Film Set, Experience, Disney Channel
I had the opportunity to go on set with the Disney channel when they shot in Cape Town on Friday. it was an awsome experience to see how they go to work. They had people from all over the world in the crew. The director was from Ireland. There were also people from the US, UK, Europe and then of course our own RSA. They spent the whole day on location prepping and shooting. The scary part of this whole expidition is the fact that the whole day was just for 30 seconds of airtime. JIP you read correctly!!! 30 SECONDS!!!!! 8 Hours of shooting for only 30 seconds of television time. Apart from that, it was just amazing to see how they operate. Their professionalism and experties. The person in the crew with the least experience has 22 years behind his name. The director has been in the business for the past 34 odd years! Now I understand why there is such a big difference in quality! After 22 years in the business you aught to know a thing or two. I'm still a LONG way from 22 years but I'll get there one day.

Why, Life, Thomas Jefferson, Born
...
During the last few weeks I have been doing a lot of thinking (yes I am capable of doing it). Thinking about life, purpose and all those nice things we always philosophize about. Why are here… What was the purpose for our design and creation? Why me… Why you dear reader...
I attended a course the last couple of days. This specific course was about a program called Career Direct. It tests your personality, values, interests, and skills. Yes … I know there is a million programs out there that claims to do exactly that but never work, but this one is different. I’ve spent thousands of rands on tests like this one and never agreed with the outcome, but somehow this one was spot on. With this I don’t mean it had a couple of truths in it that captured my interest. Every word it said about me was true! There was not 1 thing not true!!!!! Fluke you might think. I beg to differ. I’ve spoken to countless people that claim the same thing as me. This test is actually accurate. And the best of all is that it’s not expensive at all!!! Some of these tests cost up to R1500.00 and when you’ve finished the test they hand you a two page load of hogwash!!! This test on the other hand gives you a 32page report. It list everything I said on top and then your strengths and weaknesses in your personality, as well as possible careers that will be suited for you. But enough about that. Post me if you want more info. The topic of today is not the test, but the realization that I once again had during my time in the course I attended. Why were we created? Why was there a need for me and you as a person? Or more directly, what is our purpose for living?
A while ago I watched a move called the sound of thunder. It basically boils down to the fact that something as simple as stepping on and killing a butterfly today affects the future! How you might ask … Well that butterfly will never be able to sit on a flower and pollinate it with another plants pollen. This in turn will cause the plant to not reproduce and form another plant with different attribute and so on and so forth. Who knows… Maybe that butterfly carried the pollen of a plant that contained the last DNA strand needed to create the fungus we now know as penicillin! It’s almost like a chain and everything that exist are links in that chain. If one link is missing, the chain can never be completed! Therefore if you were not born the chain could not have been completed. The purpose question once again arises. Why was this link created in the first place? And that is the all elusive question hanging over each and every living thing! If Benjamin Franklin were never born, we would not have had electricity. If Thomas Jefferson were never born, America would not have had the declaration of independence. If Tim Berners-Lee were not born, I would not be able to post this peace on what we call the internet. And the list goes on… Why then were you born? What is your purpose for being? We were all born for a time such now, into the circumstances we are in and with the personality we have!
WHY ME?
WHY YOU?

technology, bowling, sleep, babes
Last night a couple of friends and I went out and played a bit of ten pin bowling. Due to the fact that it was pro night, we had to wait until 22:00 for them to finnish with their practice. If the waiting wasn't bad enough, our lane was serously screwed up! After each strike we had to reset the pins. Eventually we finnished to the first round (I won [YEH ME!!!!]) and got another for "free" for all the trouble. So off we went to play round two. It went well, but as I was about to bowl for the last time, they (the dumb ass staff) turned the computer off! Thus ending our bowling for the night. Not that we really complained. It was 00:00 already and we had to get up in 5 hours time for work. Climbing into my bed at 00:15 I found myself wide awake and not being able to sleep at all. This carried on for the better part of an hour, until eventually at 01:30 I fell asleep. Ergo... I'M TIRED AS HELL TODAY!!!!!! Had to drink two huge cups of coffee just to get myself awake enough to start working.
And this is but just the beginning! My son Dillan will be born at the end of October and then sleep is but a formality! Hope u all have a fab wakefilled day!
P.S. After last night I just once again realized that technology hates my guts!!! When ever I'm around it, it seems to either crash or become extremely slow! Makes me woner if I'm in the right profession having to have to work with technology every day of my life.

Life, Love and Sacrifice
It's Monday morning and today I woke up with a song in my heart! We were all created with a hunger for more! There is a void inside of us that drives us throughout our lives to find something to fill it. Some find it in substances such as alcohol, drugs, food, excercise, sleep, television, etc. But some... some find that, this void inside of them can only be filled something not visible to any eye or for that matter understood by many (if any) in its full capacity! They find that this void inside of them can only be fille by LOVE!!!!! not the kind of love a friend of family brings, but the kind of passionate love only your soulmate can bring. The kind of love that changes your whole life in an instant. The kind of love love that is selfless and willing to do anything to ensure that the other person is happy and safe. The kind of love that makes you stare at that special person for hours at end while they sleep. That puts a smile on your face when their name is mentioned or pops up somewhere.
The kind of love that makes life worth living!!!
Unfortunatily not everybody finds that kind of love. And those who do, sometimes don't appreciate it and how lucky we are to have THAT kind of love! A love so powerful that the one party is wiling to lay down his/her life for the other.
May everybody who reads this entry experience love in a way they never felt before. A selfless love. A love that makes life worth LIVING!!!!

work, Life, visitors, surprise
Usually I leave for work at 6 in the morning and arrive there at around about 7. This morning however i only got here at 8:30. Why??? Halfway there, one of my friends (we drive to work together) realized that he accidentaly took his flatmate's car keys with him and so we had to turn back and take it to him. This constituted that we had to drive to work in rush hour! Not the best way to start your day!!

!!
Anyway, life goes on and so does time!
I was surprised yesterday when I received the to replys from india on my blog. It's strange that on the day that I think nobody reads my blog two people from the other side of the world reply to it! This gives me hope yet!

To all those out there that reads this... I hope you have an AMAZING day!!!!
As Mr Ford use to say "Life is a journey... Enjoy the ride!!!!!"

comments, bash, kaerf, film productions
It's been ages since my last post and frankly I sometimes wonder if anyone even reads our posts. I see that even Kaerf's blog the comments are few. Anyway whether somebody reads it or not, it's out there!
These last couple of day has been hectic! Been working hard and got sick! But enough of that. A friend and I decided that we are tired of waiting for stuff to happen, so we decided to start producing our own films. Of course we'll start small and work our way up, but we are up for the challange! He's dusy finnishing his first pilot production and I'm in the writing process with mine. Still have a few other video shoots to do for work, so the writing is going slowly at best. BUT we'll get there! I'll keep who ever's intersted up to date.
Kaerf and Christiaan are comming to Cape Town at the end of the week and we prommised ourselves that we have to have a bash. Seeing as we have a huge house to ourselvs, we are most probably going to throw the bash at our house and invite everyone over. Can't wait to see them again!

Life, Rain
And the rain keeps on pouring. For those of you who know Cape Town, knows that in winter time it rains like there's no tomorrow!! Was sick on Friday and remained in bed. Wished I could stay in bed today as well. But what a weekend it turned out to be. First of all I'd like to give my condolences to Kaerf and the rest who Videne Kelle, especialy her family and boyfriend. It is never nice to loose a loved one and my prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. Apart from that I heard that my sister's husband was also in a huge car accident last week. Their car is totaled and he broke his hand badely. If this isn't enough, i received a sms yesterday that one of my friend's sister's baby is in ICU in the hospital. There were also quite a few accidents on the roads this weekend.
What's going on? There's a saying that states: "When it rains, It pours!" This looks to be very true this weekend. Not only for the weather in Cape Town but also for bad things that happened. We can only hope and pray for things to improve. I hope that you all have an EXCELENT week ! ! !

This ment I arrived at work at 06:00, which is almost an hour before i ussualy get here and to make things worse, there was an accident on the N1 so everybody else was late. I had to wait in my car until 06:50 before the offices opened.

time
Time is one (if not the) of the most well known relative terms. No matter what you do, time does not wait for anyone. Every second past, is a second we can never go back to (For the moment at least). For this simple fact, we plan everything and everything is linked to it. Our hearts beat at a certain amount of beats per minute (time). If our brain does not function for a cetain amount of time, we are declared brain dead (time). We wake up at a certain time every moring to go to school, college, work, gym, etc. And the list goes on....
One of my favourite saying in life states that life is an echo. What ever you put into it, comes right back at you! Ergo, what ever time you put into a project / event, is rewarded with someting else wether it is money, sattisfation, rest, or any other medium. It's only a matter of time before the ripples of your actions return to you! We read and hear about time machines, and bending the space time continuum and having a 25 hour day when you eat a BarOne, but what happens when time is destorted or even stopped? Will we cease to exist or just carry on as if nothing has happened. What effect does time really have on everything or is it just something out there that doesn't really matter?
