PirateBay Is Not So Pirate Anymore

A gaming tag? What does this have to do with gaming, you ask? Well, so far, nothing. But it is what it COULD mean for games all around that matters. Controversial (and usually illicit) site, The PirateBay, has left the dark side and gone legit.
That's right. It will now start to pay royalties over to copyright owners of all content downloaded through their site. How is this possible? Because it was bought for USD$7.8M by Global Gaming Factory, an Internet Café and Gaming mega company. The key word here is GAMING.
The new owner is planning to use the site's popularity and installed 'technology' to propose a new business model where all parties involved make a legit profit, including game distribution. In case you don't remember or didn't read it, we were recently discussing why the new iPhone, along with digital distribution, might be Nintendo's downfall. And now this comes to prove digital distros ARE the next big thing to come. Do you think Ninty needs and/or will get on this wagon?
