A hospital nurse who threatened to 'stab' an elderly patient if he did not take his pills faces being kicked out of the profession today.

Lynette Freeth, 32, was seen by colleagues treating pensioners roughly on a geriatric ward in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

She called 74-year-old Alzheimer's sufferer Barbara Beeforth a 'silly old cow' and yanked her wrist before pinning her down on a bed, the Nursing and Midwifery Council heard.
