I have been looking for an external CD/DVD Rom Drive, and have found several that I like. They range in price from $30 to $140.

What I have decided to do, was to let you, My Opera Family, decide which one you think would best fit the usage that I need.

What do I need?

Well, I need one that will play my DVDs and CDs, and that will write to both as well. I need one that will be able to take and put my games on my computer that I have on disk, so that I can finally play other games, than just trial games for one hour periods.

I need one that I can hook up to either my computer or the computer that Jaxs uses (the Linux) if the need arises (like if I wipe out my drive again...lmao....and lose everything).

I need one that has a great warranty with it. One that will cover parts, labor, at least 2 years, breakage, shipping & handling, water damage, theft and all the other normal warranty stuff.

I know that the warranty will be extra, but I'm not worried about that.

Now, here is the list of items that I have found. I am using www.tigerdirect.com for my purchase, as I have not had a problem with the products that I have gotten from them before.

3. Samsung SE-S084F/RSBS Slim External DVD Writer - DVD+R 8X, DVD+RW 8X, DVD-R 8X, DVD-RW 6X, CD-R 24X, CD-RW 16X, CD-ROM 24X, External, USB 2.0, Black This is the next expensive one @ $50 and comes in both black and white. Read about it here: SAMSUNG

4. Polaroid DR110 External Slim DVD-ROM Drive - DVD-ROM 8X, CD-R 24X, USB 2.0 Powered, Black This is the least expensive @ $40 and comes in black. Read about it here: POLAROID

With the Samsung, choose black or white, as my computer has both colors on it, and I just want you to choose one of them, if you choose to pick that one for me.

I will be running the poll for this until the end of November, as I intend to get it the 1st of December. I need all the input I can get, so anyone that gets this post, please pass it on to others that you know I have on my friends list and please ask them to vote as well.
