R.I.P. Thelma

Jaxs got a phone call this morning. His mom called and told him that one of the chickens, Thelma, was dead.

He thought that Thelma may have died of old age, as she was 5 years old. He wasn't expecting what he found.

What he found was Thelma's neck broken, part of her back end cut off, her head shoved down into the ground, and brutally thrown into the corner of the yard where she was found.

He had raised Thelma and Louise from babies. He grew very attached to them, even though he never wanted them in the first place. Jaxs' son had brought them home with him. Well we all know kids. He planned on taking care of them like any kid does, but of course Jaxs wound up being the one to take care of them.

Thelma was the more docile one. She was the friendliest of the two. She would always try to be the first one to the door whenever Jaxs opened it after comming home from work.

I got to know Thelma and Louise. They were my first sight of a farm animal up close and personal. I loved going out in the backyard and playing with them. Now I can't even go visit them because we live too far away to walk there. I am glad that I got to have some time with them both.

I know that Jaxs is very upset about what happened to Thelma, and I can't even begin to put into words how he feels. I won't even try, but I felt that I needed to say something on his behalf and about how I feel.

We have an idea who is behind the slaying of Thelma, but we have no proof of it.

He lost a long time ago.That group hates it when you laugh, sing and enjoy life. They hate it when you are not intimidated and fear them. I'm only in the area to take care of my mother. If it were not for her, I wouldn't even live here.

I am glad your mom has you. I don't know what has kept her there with that man, but it isn't for me to judge her.

I really don't know. She spends most of her life in a wheel chair. Ten years ago she had a below the knee amputation. I got blamed for that. Not by my mother but by a hateful dad. He went around telling people that because of me he was afraid of living in the house and that I terrorized my mother. According to his lies that's why she would not go to a doctor. Gangrene set in and she nearly lost her life. The truth is he refused to put any health insurance on her through his job. It was more important for him to buy alcohol, get drunk and be nasty. She couldn't afford to pay the doctor bill and was ashamed. So she refused to get help despite my plea's. Slowly I watched her suffer until she couldn't speak for herself. That's when I was able to get her help. That was ten years ago.

I will keep your mom in my prayers Jaxs. Maybe she'll be free soon from all of this mans hate. Sounds like his health is rapidly breaking down, maybe it will continue to. God takes care of those who are evil in His own way and time. :smile:

Yeah, this was the 1st time I didn't actually start from scratch on a Blog Theme. I pretty much already had the Blog Theme finished. It WAS on a shelf so to speak. I've never even had a shelf before. :lol: When I start on a Blog Theme, it's because it's already going to someone specifically, tailor-made to their preferences, tastes and personality. This one was supposed to be an Update for someone's existing Blog Theme. It turned out to be too dark to meet the specifications. Homer: Doh! No Biggie. I figured it would eventually fit someone. So, I kept it around. When I saw that Kim loved purple, I offered it to her and she loved it. I tweaked the Header for her and changed the Foreground from White to Black since she said she loved the darker themes better. So, everything turned out Cool! :up:
