Sportsmanship

The girls in gray were behind 4 to 1 in the first inning of the Henderson State University (Arkadelphia, Arkansas) v. Delta State softball game. Delta State's player hit a 3-run homer, and one of the base runners hurt her ankle at second base. The rules are that her teammates cannot touch her until she finishes her run. When Henderson's shortstop saw the pain on the runner's face, she went to help her. Other Henderson players carried the runner to third base, paused to let her touch the base, then carried her to home plate to score the run and to her waiting teammates. Henderson then retook the field and the game carried on.

College sports at their finest.

Good sportsmanship....not something seen routinely in today's society. Good for those girls.

This reminded me on a soccer player in England who scored a goal and immediately acknowledged that he was in off side or something like that. Whole stadium applauded cheers

It really says something about the character of these players, and the soccer player you mention, too, doesn't it?

We're not entirely without hope.

Well, knowing how over payed most of them are, a bit of decency should be expected up

These players aren't paid, Darko. If they receive anything at all, it's a scholarship to college, contingent on keeping their grades above a certain grade point average. Most of these girls have to work as waitresses, carhops, file clerks, babysitters, or depend on their parents to send them money for food and clothes. My younger sister worked at a gas station during part of her college years at HSU, pumping gas, cleaning windshields, checking oil and airing up tires.

These are just good, decent human beings.

That's the type of thing you can do when your not worry about the MLB draft or high-paying contracts.

Yeah. Seems that when money enters the picture, character leaves it.
