Praying for Rain

Been watering the gardens belonging to a friend of mine for the last few days while she and her husband are on a trip to the western states. In spite of the drought, her vegetable gardens are still producing a lot of vegetables. Her flowers are still blooming. Not sure why, but they are. With little to no rain, temperatures mostly over 100 deg. F., and severe drought conditions in this region of the country, nothing much should be growing at all. Although my grass is still green, I've only had to mow it once in the last couple of months.
Wildfires have been popping up all over the place. One recent fire necessitated the evacuation of an entire town in northcentral Arkansas. Lake levels are dropping, as well as those of rivers, ponds and creeks.
The temperature is supposed to be 107 deg. F. here tomorrow, with a heat index around 115.
Looking forward to watering the gardens.
The water spraying from the hose is really quite refreshing.
