What is
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)?
Did you know that 88% of all Internet browsers use search engines to find what they are looking for. In February 2008, there were nearly 10 billion core searches done in the US alone. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the process of bringing a website as high as possible on the organic search engine results when users type in a search term in the search engine.
In Layman's terms, you go to Google and search for "Blue Widgets" and a website comes up number 1 selling blue widgets- this is due to an effective SEO strategy. When Google ranks your site, it looks at two primary SEO processes - onsite optimisation and offsite optimisation.
Onsite Optimisation is the process of developing, customising and regularly modifying a website's structure and content in order to improve your organic rankings in the Search Engines. Search Engines use 'digital spiders' to crawl each page of your website. These spiders collect a fair amount of information about each page, after which they will allocate a page result ranking for your website. The more 'fulfilled' the spiders are when visiting your site, the better your rankings will be.
Offsite Optimisation (Link Building) is the most important part of SEO and involves acquiring incoming links. Link Building involves getting other credible websites to point towards your website; this shows the search engines that your website is a valuable resource on the Internet.
These incoming links to your website can be seen as votes for your website and the higher the number of quality links you receive, the better your link popularity and rankings become.

Competitor Analysis
Each Search Engine Optimisation client is unique and at R.O.I. we approach things from a different angle. Our first step is to analyse your main competitors. Remember that Google and the other major search engines do not provide a roadmap for attaining a top-10 ranking and the best way to achieve higher and higher rankings is to find out which SEO strategies the best performing sites are implementing. This will show us which strategies are working well with Google, Yahoo! and MSN and how we can mould your SEO strategies in order to attain a superior standing amongst your main competitors.
Keyword research
Our SEO specialists will research and develop a customised list of keywords that your target market is most likely to use when searching for your services. Our results will reveal the highest traffic generating keywords in your industry and which ones are best to focus on given the competition around these keywords.
Content Writing
An instrumental element towards achieving good onsite results is to have a sufficient amount of good SEO flavoured content on your website. Most copywriters do not write web content with the search engine spiders in mind. Keyword prominence, density and frequency are usually lacking and the content on each webpage has no theme incorporated into its structure.
As you may be aware, Google uses artificial intelligence to rank content based on theme technology and web spiders allocate a much higher ranking to websites that incorporate themed content. With themed content incorporated, your web pages will rank for a few keywords instead of one primary keyword.
R.O.I. has professional copywriters that specialise in writing highly optimised themed content for onsite optimisation purposes.
Website Optimisation
Once we have a set keyword list we will then allocate these SEO keywords to individual pages on your website and optimise the web pages around these keywords. We will finely tune roughly 70 HTML elements on your website. Here is a list of just a few of the onsite elements we will be fine-tuning:
Page size, Meta keywords, java script status, robots.txt files, title tags, heading tags, Meta descriptions, body text, internal linking, ALT tags and ALT attributes.
Although the procedures described above appear to be complicated and time intensive, we have an excellent onsite optimisation turnaround time of roughly 25 days. Once the website optimisation process is completed we will begin the 2nd part of your SEO campaign, the Link Building process.
One-way link building solutions
This is pretty much the same thing as "Obama versus Clinton", it's time to get popular and generate votes from the online public.
In order to attain higher and higher rankings in the search engines your website will require hundreds and eventually thousands of incoming links. This is a long term strategy that needs to be built up slowly over time. We have over 100 link building strategies in our SEO armoury, some of which include: Search Engine and directory submission; article and press release production and distribution; as well as creative link building strategies that incorporate web 2.0 technologies.
