Gone are the days when 4x4s used to be farm vehicles.

These days you’re most likely to find these bad boys on tarred roads…not in some mud bath bathing with the hogs.
4x4s have become as stylish as the Italian designer suit their drivers wear. They have become a fashion item so to speak; one season they’re the in thing, the next, they’re outdated; so yesterday – like the ML55 AMG – the 4x4 that paved the way for this rather costly fashion race.

So which 4x4 is the current king of the catwalk; is it the ML63 AMG; the Range Rover Sport maybe?
It’s none of them actually; and it’s not even my favourite of the lot – the X5 4.8is; and it’s definitely not the ugly duckling – the Porsche Cayenne.

Believe it or not, the hottest 4x4, or SUV (as these prima-donnas prefer to be called) is the all American Jeep Cherokee SRT-8 – this monster is as desirable as King Kong, and it’s devastatingly fast; even faster than Usain Bolt – the fastest man on earth.
