An American @ Opera

I love working here

American Prices ROCK!

So, I just got back from the grocery store, to get some necessities, and to get some cravings that occured in Oslo satisfied.

Here is a list of items I got, and their prices...

  • Microwavable Popcorn (3 pack) - $3.49 (17.5 NOK)
  • Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (8 pack) - $1.79 (9 NOK)
  • 2 Loafs of Wheat Bread - $4.00 (20 NOK)
  • Henry Weinhard's Belgian Wheat Beer (12 pack) - $9.99 (50 NOK)

NOTICE THAT BEER IS 50 NOK FOR 12 BEERS!!! THAT'S THE PRICE OF 2 BEERS IN NORWAY!!!

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Jealous much you Norwegians????? Hehehehehe!

NOTE: This beer is 5.3% ERIC! (He thinks beer in America is weak. *sigh*)

Exspensive popcorn for only a 3 pack. Wal-Mart has Microwave popcorn cheaper and a lot more in the box.

true. didnt feel like buying generic though, or going to another store. this was a lucky.

Dacotah 26. July 2008, 09:16

 It's not generic kind. May-be you will check it out next time.

i try to avoid wal mart here. it's the most ghetto one i've ever been to and i used to work at one for 1.5 years as a 1 hour photo tech. it's open 24 hours too, and no matter what time u go there's always a crwod of stinky trashy people there. blech.

Dacotah 26. July 2008, 21:39

Well it's 15 pack for 3.77 there. :D

Steve Davis 27. July 2008, 03:44

the mental anguish of entering a wal mart makes it much more expensive in the long run

You hoser! You're making me miss tolerable prices!

BTW, do you mean 3.5% beer? I think you got it backwards!

Steve Davis 7. August 2008, 19:15

um, no asshole. http://www.theraven.com/beer.html

American beer goes in alcohol % per unit of weight, while in Europe it's % per volume. Since alcohol is lighter than water, American beer has a lower % value while usually still being the same real quantity in the bottle.

Just so you know

Brian Huisman 8. August 2008, 00:06

It's %/vol in Canada, too.

Steve Davis 8. August 2008, 19:29

yeah, us americans always gotta be different. frankly i'd rather be like everyone else for conversion purposes. but at least we got the same as everyone else. us americans love our beer, and we have a much wider selection than most other countries.
