FastMail and Opera

FastMail < www.fastmail.fm > is a great mail service provider yes ; I have yet to see better. Even GMail, though free, has not been able to tempt me away from using FastMail as my main service.

However, FastMail is not 100% Opera friendly. I raised this with the FastMail people. Their response:

"Thanks for the suggestion. We sure would love to support HTML on Opera, but I believe Opera doesn't support the 'content-editable' property that is required for HTML editing to work. At the moment, we use a third party HTML editing plugin for the compose screen, which need this property to work unfortunately!"

But, FastMail I think are better than most at listening to their customers, so maybe one day Opera and FastMail will be a perfect couple.

I, too, am an Opera and Fastmail user. I don't really care about composing my emails in HTML, rather than plain text, so that one function not working in Opera doesn't bother me.

Thanks for the feedback Steffens. I am ambivalent about emails in html, but at times I still write emails in html, especially at work where I want to get the attention of those on my mailing list.

Apart from all that, I would like to see all websites incl FastMail to be aware of Opera and to consider making everything work OK with Opera.

Thank also to vinczej from Hungary who reminded me that Blogger can work OK with Opera ... (but I think that it is not with the same functionality as say FireFox?? I will have to check - again).
