You heard me! I was using the faithful Opera Blog system for a year and a half and I've jumped ship. The my.opera.com blogging site was great to me but the bottom line is that it's just too simple for me. I need more options and features to keep my inner geekyness satisfied.
I urge you to come over and check out my location on Google's Blogger platform. Click the link below to check it out. Oh and don't worry, I've moved all of my previous posts over to the new site, so you won't miss a thing!

Thanks for reading my blog on MyOpera, now I hope you'll follow me on Blogspot.

psp, portable ID, signature, playstation 3
...
Well, I've finally given in to this portable ID thinger. I've never been a big fan of showing off stats, rankings, trophies or achievements but I like the looks of the Playstation Portable ID. I enjoy the level of customization and that when used as a signature, it syncs with the Playstation server to show your current trophy count. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not going to start spamming this thing on my posts, but I may use it on other gaming sites.
For those of you who are PSP or PS3 owners, you should take a look at the Portable ID feature if you haven't already. It's a nice looking signiture block, and even if your like me and don't have a lot of trophies, you can still see your mood, favorite game and the last 3 games you've earned trophies on. As of now, I've got Batman on mine... cause Batman: Arkham Asylam is my all time favorite PS3 game. Mine also shows Batman, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and God of War 3 as the last games I've played.
Head over to the Official Playstation Network page to create or update your own Playstation Portable ID. I'll show mine below, note that I go by "Oatie" on the Playstation Network.

review, gaming, 3ds, playstation 3
...
First off, lets start by saying that both devices are going to be awesome. The pre-order count for Nintendo 3DS is massive and I’m sure Nintendo won’t let people down with game selection and fun factor. The Sony NGP (PSP2) will be very impressive as well featuring great high-end gaming titles and a selection of cool multimedia features.
When the next generation consoles (360, PS3 and Wii) hit the market, there was a clear cut choice between them. 360 gives a great social/online hardcore gaming experience, PS3 provides hardcore
games and a multimedia system and the Wii hits home as an interactive, family fun gaming experience. There's a console for every gamer.
The 3Ds will be a fun family based (casual) system with 3D-like graphics. The NGP will mesh the best portable graphics we’ve seen with hardcore gaming titles. The 3Ds will be more affordable for it’s target customer, while the NGP will be full of expensive features and serve as a link to your PS3 to create a portable multimedia center.
The 3Ds and the NGP are two completely different systems, the only similar aspect is that they’re portable and capable of playing games. The real truth is, everyone wins here as there is a portable system for everyone. I’m glad Nintendo targets
the casual market, and Sony the serious. You could always buy the 3DS and then save up until the NGP comes out and buy it too.
The big question should be:
If the 3DS and the NGP were released on the same day and were the same price, which one would you buy?

You've seen those squarish barcodes popping up all over the place haven't you? You know, the ones with the little black squares that usually advertise websites or products in magazines, on signs, buses or business cards. These little barcodes are popping up everywhere and I like it!
These 2D barcodes, called "Quick Response Codes" were initially used for tracking vehicle parts during manufacturing but now they're used everywhere. The big focus is towards cell phone users as most of the popular smartphones have either a barcode scanner, or a built in camera that allows the user to capture the barcode and link to the content. These barcodes can be used to display text to the user, to add a vCard contact to the user's device, open a website or even compose an email or text message.
I find that this method
of advertisement is nice because it's small and techy. I'd much rather look at a 1" square barcode than a full page ad as if I'm interested, I'll scan the code and check it out later. The cool thing is you can create your own codes and there are tons of free websites with code generators. Click here to get started with one of my favorite, easy to use, fully functional generators.
Note that Firefox, Google Chrome, Facebook and a wide range of other computer software have apps, plugins and extensions to generate, read and scan QR codes. Now that you've learned a bit about these codes you'll probably start to notice them everywhere.
