A guide to solve the “music player error” issue

,

Good morning / afternoon / evening.!

Some of my friends told me, that they cannot hear the music – or even can’t see the player itself.
These issues can be solved.
First of all, if you are using Opera Mini (connecting from a mobile phone) you probably won’t be able to see it – unless you have a lot of money to buy a PDA, or a new one.

If you are using Linux,
You should double check if you have the newest Java, flash and shockwave player.
First you must have ROOT privileges.

So if you logged in as root, start Synaptic and download the latest package information. Search for Java, Adobe Flash player, and Adobe Shockwave player. Install them, and reboot.

If you are using Winsh… erm.. Windows,

YOU MUST BE LOGGED IN AS AN ADMINISTRATOR

Go to the controll panell, then to add/remove programs, and uninstall Adobe Flash / Shockwave player and Java Runtime

STEP 1

Download the latest flash player from:
Here

the latest shockwave from :

Here

and the latest Java from :

Here

CLOSE ALL BROWSES

STEP 2

And install them one by one

If they as you to restart the computer DO it – if they don’t, then you should reboot after you’ve installed everything

And it should work.

If it still doesn’t work go to

Here

If you see boot players with the sign of Installation complete, then everything should work.

Here is a photo of it

Restart the computer (again), and you should see the player.

STEP 3

If you still can’t see anything then there is a “brutal way”.
If you try this, you will loose all of your browser plugins, bookmarks, and everything which is part of your browsers.

If you use OPERA

1, Export ONLY your bookmarks

Click on bookmarks, then manage bookmarks, select all of your bookmarks, then click on file, then click on export Opera bookmarks.

2,Uninstall Opera – if it asks to remove everything, click on REMOVE.
3, Let’s say your username is User, and you are using Windows XP. Go to

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Opera\

And delete the WHOLE directory

4, RESTART THE COMPUTER

5, Download the latest opera browser from
Here

6, Install the browser

7,Import you bookmarks

Click on bookmarks, then manage bookmarks, then file, import Opera bookmarks, and click on the bookmark file.

8, Go back to

STEP 1

And if it doesn’t work, try to quit all applications which use the internet INCLUDING MSN, SKYPE, or anything else. If it still doesn’t work then blame your ISP!

If you are using Firefox

1, Click on bookmarks, then manage bookmarks, select all of your bookmarks, then click on file, then export.

2, Uninstall Firefox

3, Go to

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Mozilla\

And delete everything

Then go to

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\

And delete the whole directory too

4, RESTART THE COMUTER

5, Download the latest Firefox from

Here

6, Install it

7, Import bookmarks

Click on bookmarks, then manage bookmarks, import bookmarks, and click on the file.

8, Go back to

STEP 1

And if it doesn’t work, try to quit all applications which use the internet INCLUDING MSN, SKYPE, or anything else.
If it still dosen't work, BLAME YOUR ISP!

If you are using booth Opera AND Firefox, then export their bookmarks, uninstall booth, remove the given directories, Restart the computer, install booth, import your bookmarks, then go to STEP 1

The Adobe installer has an in-built error, and it will install itself only to the browser, which you used to download it– so if you downloaded it with Opera it won’t install itself to Firefox. So YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THEM FROM BOOTH browsers..

What's interesting to me is that I installed through synaptic. when you launch synaptic, it asks for your password and it won't run without it so I don't need to be in root to do that. after installing, I reboot and both Opera and FireFox work with the plugins. Opera appears to have full access to any plugin that's installed in FireFox. of course, this post is from 2007 so that's where the difference is, both FireFox and Opera have improved since then. (I can't say if I.E. has improved since I just don't have Windose)

Yep this post is pretty old. opera just leeches FF's plugins now - LOL :D

The same goes for FF. :D
There is a weird error though. If you ever had opera but uninstalled it and left in some application data in your computer than AF will fail to install...
