My favorite Unreal Tournament 2004 Mutators / Mods

, , , ...

Hi!

I have a lot of mutators / mods, but the following 3 “mutators” are my favorite.
Also there are a lot of TC-s (Total Conversation) like Red Orchestra, but they have nothing to do with the “original UT2k4” – they just use the engine of the game.

My favorite mod is the 4 team CTF / DM.
Some may say that it is a TC – but basically it does “nothing” – but with it up to 4 teams can play CTF or DM. They include a few maps – which are mostly made of the in-game levels – like they convert the level named “Face Classic” – with adding another 2 towers – so 4 teams can play.
It has many features especially in CTF:
We can set the following things :

****Number of teams - Trivial

****Carry multiple flags – trivial

****Omniscience – all teams can see where the flags are

****Carry flag back – you have to take back your flag to your base (I love this one) [it is so “unreal” that when in “normal CTF” we pick up our flag, and it teleports back into its place…]

****Translocate with flags –You can use the translocator when you have a flag

****Distribution – if you set it on, you have to score against each other teams – So if the goal score is 3 you have to score 3 against every other team.

****Designation – if you set it you can score against only 1 team – so if you set it to green – you can score only with the green team’s flag. :D

****Substraction – If you score against a team they loose 1 point – via versa

****Elimination (You can use it only with Distribution and / or Subtraction) – Basically it is a knockout mode – the weakest team is knocked out until only 2 teams remain. They remain in the game but they cannot score or be scored against. – But they can disturb other teams – Muhahahahaha!

The last 4 (Distribution, Designation, Subtraction and Elimination) are also available in DM.

Here is the in-build CTF map list : (You can play DM on any level of course, not just on these)

CTF4-AnubisResurrection
CTF4-BP-Morpheus (only 3 teams in CTF) (Too small)
CTF4-Clash
CTF4—Crossroads][
CTF4-DuelingKeeps
CTF4-FaceClassic
CTF4-Geothermal
CTF4-Joust (It is pretty chaotic – but it is  )
CTF4-Romra (Chaotic and boring – it is a “clear” field with 4 flags…)
CTF4-TutorialClassic (It is a bit confusing – but it is  )

The only sad thing is that due to 4 teams you should have at least 8 players to play – or set 7 bots – otherwise it is pretty pointless – but if you have a lot of friends it is a good mod. :D
The other thing is that only 1 “official” server is available and I’ve never seen anybody on it…
So if you don’t host a game nobody will.

The compressed size of this mod is 174 Mbyes – which is pretty small – and makes it “portable”.
Both versions are available (UMOD and Simple) (And their sizes are the same)

You can download the manual installation version here: (I recommend this version because due to a registry error UMOD sometimes can’t detect the game version)

Do you hate campers?

Tried to kick / block them but they came back?
They stood in unreachable places and you’ve never saw them – only when they killed you?
Well the following Mutator is for you!
It is called Camper’s Hunter!
This is the Best mutator what I’ve ever seen! I use this mod for years now – and didn’t see campers ever since!
This mod uses an algorithm to decide if a player or bot (!) is camping – and if it detects somebody who is camping, it summons “The Hunter” – an undefeatable character which has the ability to teleport anywhere and kills the camping player.
You can choose from 2 characters – Agent Smith from Matrix, or Hitman 2 – also you can choose their killing weapons which can be a Sniper Riffle or a Flak Cannon.

The following options can be set:

****Hunter Model – Trivial (can be Agent Smith or Hitman 2)

****Hunter Weapon – trivial (Sniper Riffle or a Flak Cannon)

****Only check players – Uncheck it – so bots will be checked too :D

**** Grace time – The time needed to “flag” somebody as a camper – I recommend it to set it to 5 or 4– so if somebody is camping for more than 5 or 4 seconds the Hunter will detect it, and kill the player

****Camping Threshold – set it to maximum – which is 500 – this is the aggressiveness of the hunter – CAMPERS MUST DIE!

**** Make the Hunter Killable – I don’t know why we are allowed to set this – since if somebody kills the Hunter it will come back… Also ppl use this mutator to prevent camping… So it is pointless – leave it alone

****Hunter’s Health – if you set The Hunter to Killable you can set his HP here…

You can download it Here (2.2 Mbytes)

I made some photos – click on the link bellow to see them:

Hitman 2 in action
Agent Smith in action
If you are flagged as a camper you'll see a message
And die... Also other players will get a notification of your death

Do you like the sight of blood?
Are you so angry that you want to see a lot of blood?
The following mutator is for you!
It is called Gibalicious 2
With this mutator you can make REAL bloodbaths in the game! I’m not kidding!
It has two options:
****Always gib: If ticked, players will be gibbed on every death.
****Gib factor: The number of gibs will be increased by this factor. (Setting very high will slow down your computer. Setting ridiculously high may cause a crash).

I love to use this mod with LowGravity on Morpheus3 – it gives a feeling of bloody firework!

It works for every Race.

You can download it Here (100 Kbyes(!) )

I made some demonstrating photos click on the links bellow:

Simple death - w/o the mutator
Death while Gib factor is set to 10
Death while Gib factor is set to 25
Death while Gib factor is set to 50
Death while Gib factor is set to 100
