Perhaps I've spoken too soon.
This has finally been tested in the Opera browser for Nintendo DS and has been reworked a little to make it run a little smoother.

This project is as good as dead. The main reason being we brought a delightful little Mac mini home a few months ago and now use FrontRow for streaming iTunes. Beautiful GUI remote controllable interface and all. Another reason is this was never that tight of software. Like driving round pegs into square holes. I've also never picked up Opera DS to ever properly test it... *shhh*
Anyway, it'll most likely stay here in its current state as long as Opera lets it. It does do some interesting things as it is, so hopefully someone out there will find some good in it.

What's new:
- Can "focus" on the current playing artist or album*
- Should work on non-english localizations of OS X**
- Handles text or "constants" returned by iTunes
* When you click on the Artist or Album links at the bottom of the window this will create a playlist named iTunesDSr in iTunes and start playing it. This is still a bit buggy, but usually works fine.
** Thanks to jaycee for
pointing out iTunesDSr was most likely broken on a german localized system.

If you haven't heard, iTunes 7.0 was released today. Now you can buy movies and games for your video iPod! It's getting a little big for it's britches, if you ask me. But, I was probably happiest at iTunes 4.
