Things and stuff and you know...

Belgian is in crisis. I guess it's almost 100 days after the federal elections and we still don't have a governement. As you know we have a multiple party system. The elected parties have to form a coalition which has more than 50% of all the seats in the Senate and Chamber of Representatives. The coalition will be a coalition of Christian Democrats and Liberals. But, as usual, it's also a coalition of Flemish parties and Wallonian parties. And there lies the problem. Flanders and Wallonia don't manage to get an agreement, because the winners in Flanders won with a program wich wants to realise the oposite of what the Wallonian winning parties want to realise. This crisis proves again that Belgium is actually unnatural country: Flanders and Wallonia are so different. Flanders wants more autonomie, Wallonia not. The crisis now only confirms the idea of the Flemish people that Flanders should have more autonomy, withouth Wallonia blocking their wishes. I don't think Flanders will be become indepentent very soon, but I'm sure it will be in 50 years. Belgium is already dead, but a lot of people don't realise it yet...
Yesterday I've took in introduction course in woodcarving. I've been dreaming years of this. The introduction day was so fantastic I want to continue. I'll propably enroll for the 7-day course in the beginning of 2008. With no experience at all, we managed to carve a nice flower. I hope you'll enjoy these 2 photos.

The political situation over there is interesting. I don't have a very clear idea of how your government works, despite both you and Steven trying to explain it. I wonder what will happen to your country in the long-term.
Good luck with your first day at work! May you have friendly, calm patients!

I think this sux - look at Italy, Israel and many other countries with this system. It allows every wing-nut party to hold the balance of power. And the parties name the reps, you never actually vote for a person, instead you vote for a party. Bah..............
Yes, I know it does work in some countries, but I much prefer our present system (3 major parties, win the riding, win the seat - and vote for a real person) to a system that could well lead to the break up of my country. Putting the balance of power into the hands of some fanatic party/parties, who have maybe 5 seats? Nope, not for me.
OK, I'll shut up now.
