Happy Mother's Day

#1
MOM, whenever i fell, you were there.
When i bruised my knee, you were there.
When i got sick, you were there.
What are you?
Some kind of jinx?

#2
Before the child is born
A mother's love begins
Before the child is born
And lasts through time
And difficulties
And differences
And many wounds
And days of joy
And days of sorrow
Winding, wearing
Weeping, sharing
Changing
Until, at the end
What remains
Is that solid core
That began as love
Before the child was born.

#3
Mom, I can’t repay the lessons That you taught when I was small.
Or give you gift for gift The daily treasures I recall...
I can’t return encouragement And loving words of praise.
In quite the way you did for me Through all my childhood days.
But there is one gift that I can give, It’s all the love you’ve earned.
For love is what you always taught... And love is what I learned.
Mom, Words can not express the gratitude that I feel!
Thanks & Love, Me

#4
No Love like a Mother's Love
There is no love, like a mother's love,
no stronger bond on earth...
like the precious bond that comes from God,
to a mother, when she gives birth.
A mother's love is forever strong,
never changing for all time...
and when her children need her most,
a mother's love will shine.
God bless these special mothers,
God bless them every one...
for all the tears and heartache,
and for the special work they've done.
When her days on earth are over,
a mother's love lives on...
through many generations,
with God's blessings on each one.
Be thankful for our mothers,
for they love with a higher love...
from the power God has given,
and the strength from up above.

Happy Mothers Day to you Helen...I put the monkey beside your name. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/BigGrin.gif - I hope you like it. I tried to find one that looked similar to yours, but I had no luck. I thought this one was really cute.

I am trying to find little animations for all my friends. I look for ones that remind me of them or of something they like.

I finally cleaned the dust off my cell phone camera lens too!
Hope your day goes a least that good!

Spelled wrong, huh? Oh well. Mothers Day gets me in arrested developement since I was 12.
My biological mother died that summer.
I also still haven't recovered from her replacement (more my Dad's attitude than mine), trying to morph me into some version of Jerry Lewis.
I am still out playing in the backyard though and I'm as over it as can be. The divine aspect of motherhood surrounds me and I communicate to "her" daily. wink

One more:

Have you seen the episode of "2 1/2 Men" where Charlie complains about Rose having trained a seagull to attack him? That has actually happened to me from off the roof of the building my mailbox was rented in. Successive attempts right in the parking lot. I wiped my nose with a red bandanna and the bird chilled. (There's scientific data that supports the event)(it has nothing to do with condors or animal rights?)

Every day I feel I feel like a lawn ornament on Mischief Night.

Hexy decimals?

Life is a paddle wheeler and I've been sold down the river. Ever taken THAT trip?

SummerAngel Friday, May 21, 2010 7:14:19 PM

Sorry to hear you lost your mother at such a young age Tom. http://files.myopera.com/SummerAngel/Smilies//cryhankie.gif -

I've only watched 2 1/2 men a couple of times, so I have not seen the episode you mentioned. But, having grown up on the St. Johns River, I do know that seagulls do not have to be trained to attack. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/BigGrin2.gif -

Tom RondelloFrlmnk Friday, May 21, 2010 10:11:41 PM

Let me tell you, it was harder putting up with my stepmother than getting over the loss.

The roof was pitched and on a two story building. I was in the middle of the parking lot. Why me?

Any way that particular species of seagull have a red dot on their bill. Experiments have been done to prove the chicks imprinting on the red dot.

Once as a boy I walked into an abandoned freezer with nesting Artic Terns inside. THAT was a mistake! Luckily, I still have both eyes. wink

Yes you should, BUT instead of sending them the cash after you've deposited their worthless check, send it to ME. happy

Tom RondelloFrlmnk Monday, May 24, 2010 7:46:57 PM

Nah! You want me to send that guy over there eaten those donuts in that van, don't ya?

Think that humming bird at my feeder'll ever calm down enough for me to get a photo? She's not real flashy but is real skitterish. I should set it up to record video. bigsmile

SummerAngel Tuesday, May 25, 2010 5:59:05 PM

Hummingbirds are already hyper little critters and then people put sugar water in feeders for them...and then you expect it to calm down so you can get a picture of it. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/LOL.gif -

Tom RondelloFrlmnk Tuesday, May 25, 2010 7:11:52 PM

I've had humming birds hover right in my face just to check me out. They're usually interested in my red fuel bottles. Most of their preferred flowers are red.
Those were mostly all males. This one's a hen. I don't know if they can regurgitate that stuff up but she flies in and out like she's shuttling it back to a nest. She kept coming back to the palo verde tree I'm under and mostly just hovered trying to pick off insects I think. So I (just missed her again, got the camera stting on the tripod but barely got it on) put up the feeder. I got a short video yesterday. I've seen better but I'm not getting too elaborate at the effort.

SummerAngel Thursday, May 27, 2010 1:29:01 PM

My grandparents put out a Hummingbird feeder every year. They place it in front of the living room window so they can watch them fly in for their sugar high. lol

Tom RondelloFrlmnk Thursday, May 27, 2010 7:23:07 PM

Usually I don't bother but this one kept coming back persistently and yet wouldn't settle down enough for me to get a photo.

SummerAngel Saturday, May 29, 2010 12:34:04 PM

Tomorrow is another day, you'll get 'em sooner or later. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/Happy.gif -

Tom RondelloFrlmnk Saturday, May 29, 2010 4:34:24 PM

I've gotten some video. It's in whatever format Sony's using. Windows media player doesn't play it I have to use the software that came with the camera. Otherwise I'd have tried to upload a file.
I'm in the middle of fabricating a new trailer, hitch and drive train. Taking a break to charge my batteries to grind parts clean for brazing.
I'd have it done if I didn't watch tv last night. doh
Haven't found time to play with my new compiler either. I'll be doing that by the time monsoons blow through. doh again!

One thing I can't say is: "No sweat!", about it. cool

SummerAngel Saturday, May 29, 2010 9:40:13 PM

We can't pick up a television signal here at all without cable or dish. Since the change to digital tv, those with an antenna can't even watch tv without a special converter. mad

How do you get your television signal?

Suntana Sunday, May 30, 2010 1:40:03 AM

Ahhh, Digital TV. mad A while ago, I was just getting ready to watch this movie, Blown Away. I don't I had seen it before. The title somewhat sounds familiar, but the beginning that I was watching, didn't seem familiar. It was just getting interesting. Tommy Lee Jones' character had just fabricated some exploding device to break out of his jail cell. The explosion was just about to take place when ---
Dit Dit Dit Dit Dit Dit Dit ...
The video went out and I couldn't even find the Remote.
I finally found the Remote. I adjusted the Rabbit Ears Antenna and performed a Rescan of the channels to no avail. bomb

I'll try it again later. For now, it pissed me off and I changed the channel to watch Cops.

SummerAngel Sunday, May 30, 2010 12:49:54 PM

The only thing you see here without cable, dish or an outside antenna is snow...the sponsors pay for advertising and we pay to watch...somethings wrong with that scenario. bandit

Tom RondelloFrlmnk Sunday, May 30, 2010 5:04:11 PM

Try a taller antenna. Maybe an active not a passive one also.
I've got a 7x5" portable that has an onboard antenna and an external with 6' of cable. They plug in the same socket. I'm outside anyway but, the onboard antenna has to be unplugged and replaced with the outside antenna or I get no signal. Sometimes that doesn't even work between buildings.
It's pretty flat here and I'm just outside of town.

As more and more shows can be viewed online, they may find it harder to charge so much for their services. yes

Tom RondelloFrlmnk Wednesday, June 2, 2010 9:52:10 PM

I really can't see paying for tv. Especially not on my budget.
I've already got info overload and it's only broadcast. I'm happy that reruns have started and I'll get some rest from studying these silly earthlings. alien

We can only hope!!!yes

This digital they have gone to over analog sure sucks. I have the converter boxes for the T.V.'s, but nothing I do will stop the pixelating and the sound drop out. I thought it was because we didn't have cable that that was happening . Then I see that the cable I"M PAYING for is doing the same thing, and it isn't any better then free t.v with a converter box,as far as quality!!! irked
Yes, it is time to start watching more things on the internet and stop paying for cable t.v. Then we could have a few bucks in our pockets. Uh oh don't let Obama know that. he'll be right over to pick them up.p lol lol lol whistle

I have the same problem with Dish and those I know who have Direct complain about it too.

I do taxes for family and friends. Everyone complained this year. It appears obama (didn't capitalize on purpose) caused problems for everyone when he lowered the amount of taxes taken out of our checks. Almost everyone had to pay in (even though they were having extra taken out weekly) and those who didn't have to pay in got very small refunds.

Lovinmalamuteslovinmalamutes Thursday, June 3, 2010 4:53:24 AM

Yes we experienced that very same problem with our taxes. We got very little back in a refund, but we are grateful we got a bit back. left rolleyes
We are just beat up in the tax department every year. Every since the kids could no longer be deducted, our taxes have been higher, and we haven't enough money to use the loop holes, available to those with much more money then us.irked furious Pretty screwed up system if you ask me, in which you didn't.lol p I don't have to be asked, I give my opinion freely!!!lol lol
The more money you make in this country the less you have to pay in taxes. If you have an accountant who knows the loop holes, and ways around some of the laws, you could feasible end up paying less in taxes then someone who is earning minimum wage. bigeyes And that is totally absurd, and should have been corrected loooonnnnggg before now, but it hasn't and most likely won't be. cry irked

Okay I've finished my rant and/or complaining. Whichever you want to call it.bigsmile up

Tom RondelloFrlmnk Thursday, June 3, 2010 12:07:14 PM

I can't really say I've successfully avoided those problems, but I do, do without, a lot of them.
alien confused

I am still playing the lottery. I AM going to win the jackpot, I just don't know when, and when I do, I promise to share some with you. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/Dance.gif -

Someone won the 260 million on Wednesday night. I have noticed no one wins until it gets to the 200 million range, so I think I'll save my money until then, and then buy more chances at it. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/Wait.gif -

But, I think you're sounding like BP. Don't go too far over board.

I'd probably play the lottery myself except it's too inconvenient. I COULD really use a garage that didn't restrict sparks, open flame and flamable liquids. Got any of those to spare? I find barns fairly comfortable. bigsmile
