Merry Grinchmas Dear Ole Dad
Wednesday, December 7, 2011 4:41:58 PM
This post is for my daddy because this was his favorite Christmas movie.

The Grinch Song
You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch.
You really are a heel.
You're as cuddly as a cactus,
You're as charming as an eel.
Mr. Grinch.
You're a bad banana
With a greasy black peel.
You're a monster, Mr. Grinch.
Your heart's an empty hole.
Your brain is full of spiders,
You've got garlic in your soul.
Mr. Grinch.
I wouldn't touch you, with a
thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole.
You're a vile one, Mr. Grinch.
You have termites in your smile.
You have all the tender sweetness
Of a seasick crocodile.
Mr. Grinch.
Given the choice between the two of you
I'd take the seasick crockodile.
You're a foul one, Mr. Grinch.
You're a nasty, wasty skunk.
Your heart is full of unwashed socks
Your soul is full of gunk.
Mr. Grinch.
The three words that best describe you, are as follows, and I quote:

You're a rotter, Mr. Grinch.
You're the king of sinful sots.
Your heart's a dead tomato splotched
With moldy purple spots,
Mr. Grinch.
Your soul is an apalling dump heap overflowing
with the most disgraceful assortment of deplorable
rubbish imaginable,
Mangled up in tangled up knots.
You nauseate me, Mr. Grinch.
With a nauseaus super-naus.
You're a crooked jerky jockey
And you drive a crooked hoss.
Mr. Grinch.
You're a three decker saurkraut and toadstool sandwich
With arsenic sauce!

As Dr. Seuss cartoonishly exaggerated as they might seem though, they seem to fit like a glove a Manager for whom I worked once.
Enjoy the thoughts of great times as you reminisce, Annette. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/Happy.gif -

You know ... in that Jack Nicholson's The Joker was the cutest ugliest little villain and Batman nemesis. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/LOL.gif -
For some reason, immediately upon reading your comment and seeing that little Grinch with the Santa Cap image, what came to mind was Jack Nicholson's The Joker going, "Wait'll they get a load of me." http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/Scared.gif -

Here is the quick Fix for you to implement:
Find the /*CALENDAR*/ section in your CSS Code.
In the last line:
#calendar tbody a:link, #calendar tbody a:visited { color: #FFD700; }Simply change that Color Code to FFFFFF so that the Dates with a Post will display in White to contrast with the Gold Dates without Posts.
Suntana # Monday, December 12, 2011 11:42:58 PM
That periodically happens on some of my Designs because at SuntanaLab I only have that ONE Post on which I do all my work. Thus, I have no NEW Post at any given time with which to test for this little detail. So, I just have to remember to check for it.

I haven't decided whether it'll be a Christmas Carol or a regular song. I had been letting it slide because I knew I was going to first have to open up my Keyboard and clean the contacts on the various Buttons, especially on the Button for Starting & Stopping the Play function. It was now obviously scummy and thus had a slight delay in starting to Play the Rhythm, Bass & Drums Tracks that I would record. So, it made it difficult to precisely synchronize the start of the recorded track with the LIVE track. Or it also had the huge potential of screwing up a Perfect Take by NOT turning off the Rhythm, Bass & Drums right on the money at the end of the Take.
Anyway, the issue with the Buttons contacts has now been taken care of. It is now game on to try and get a Mini Concert up on stage sometime between this weekend and Christmas Day. It's more likely the latter.

The only way that surprise Christmas Care Package could have been any better was if it had had a Chuck Christmas CD and a Stick of Butter. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/Yahoo.gif -
But, seriously, as I have mentioned before, my oldest sister is currently living in South America. The other day, at work, they gave her husband a Christmas Package that had Fruit Cake, Cookies, Candies, Rice, Pasta, Cooking Oil and I forget what else.

I skipped my Workout session yesterday and instead dove into my Mini Concert project. I finally settled on a song and jumped right in.
O --- Kay, Annette, so you twisted my arm ... a little bit.
You nudged me ... or maybe you kicked me, smacked me on the head with a fish and PUSHED me into the Christmas Carol route. So, I've settled on that. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/Yes.gif - But, no, no, no, it ain't gonna be any Blue Christmas. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/Stop.gif - http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/LOL.gif - But, don't despair. Whatever I do perform is guaranteed to be so freakin' awesome that it'll give you chills.
I originally started out yesterday with the intention of it being just that one Christmas Carol. But, I think I've changed my mind and might add 1 or 2 more Christmas Carols for a Christmas Medley. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/ThumbsUp.gif - The first part, the 1st song (2 minutes) is DONE. Now I just have to settle on what other 1 or 2 songs I tack on. Not that it's recorded yet. I just mean tack on to the arrangement of the medley. I do have some possibilities. I just have to try them out today.
SummerAngel # Saturday, December 17, 2011 5:53:06 AM
So, what Christmas songs did you decide on? http://www.myemoticons.com/images/entertainment/musicians/piano-man.gif -
Suntana # Sunday, December 18, 2011 3:07:30 AM
Nah. Hey, I can't say. I want it to be a Christmas Surprise. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/Yes.gif -
A Christmas Present for you ... and for whoever follows my Mini Concerts and celebrates Christmas.
Heck, I've changed my mind at least twice since that last comment. Again, the 1st song is set. It's just the additional part of the medley that I had to experiment with. It's that the Beat & Tempo that I selected for that 1st song is tailor made perfect for that song ... but, I was having difficulty making those several song possibilities fit that Beat & Tempo. So, I had to nix those song possbibilites and try another song. I THINK I found one for the 2nd song. I'll see if I can get that one set on Sunday. Then I'll practice them and polish'em up and hopefully record them around Wednesday. AND put on the Christmas Mini Concert on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Well, I don't know if Sunny Piano Man would play Blue Christmas for you ... but, it kinda looks like Pinky Sue Kettle up there is performing a mean, wild, multi-octave Christina Aguilera version of Blue Christmas for you.

As a Special Guest / Preferred Fan of my Mini Concerts, I am treating you tomorrow Monday to a Pre-Chistmas Show screening of my Christmas Mini Concert's material. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/Yes.gif -
This afternoon I have already recorded the Rhythm, Bass & Drum Beat Track in my Casio Keyboard to what I'm gonna perform on my Mini Concert on probably Christmas Eve. Tomorrow Monday I plan on adding the Lead Track as I record the whole Christmas Enchilada.
As has been the case for a while, you already know that because of my inferior computer and Dial Up, I can't actually Play or download my own Mini Concerts. So, after I upload my Mini Concert's MP3 into my MyOpera Files sometime tomorrow Monday, I'll need you to verify that it CAN be Played and / or downloaded.
Of course, I'll have to swear you to secrecy.
You'll have to keep the song's title hush hush.
Okay, so for promotional purposes, you can feel free to declare how awesome it is after you listen to it. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/Cool2.gif -

I actually sort of saw How the Grinch Stole Christmas on Christmas Eve at the family get together. I say, "sort of" because well, at the same time, I was giving myself a Wham Bamm Crash Course on PowerPoint 2010.
It's that I'm supposed to give my oldest sister a crash course on the basics of putting together simplistic PowerPoint Presentations. I am very good with MY PowerPoint 2000, but I knew the PowerPoint 2010 in her & her husband's Laptop was bound to look and operate VERY differently than my Flintstones PowerPoint. So, I told my sister to bring her Laptop so that I could figure out where the commands, functions and stuff in general is on PowerPoint 2010 before I can tutor her. So yeah, at the same time as somewhat watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas, I was also familiarizing myself with PowerPoint 2010. I did figure out the basics, but I didn't get to tutor her yet. That'll be sometime during this week. But, it definitely has to be before December 31 because that's when she and her husband go back to South America.

It is very sweet of you to familiarize yourself with PowerPoint 2010 so you can tutor your sister.

It was similar to when we were changed from the Old MyOpera to the New MyOpera. We had to poke around and figure out where everything was. The actual big problem is that we have a VERY small, almost nonexistent window of opportunity. I'll be seeing my sister on Thursday and that's when the PowerPoint Crash Course will have to go down. Cuz otherwise, she returns to South America on the 31st. So, it's Thursday or Bust. I already figured out my part. Now it'll be up to whether she doesn't get intimidated by PowerPoint and doesn't assimilate quickly what I show her. She's gonna have to become an efficient Chuck Erudition Sponge for about 2 hours. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/BigGrin2.gif -
She'll then have to make do with some tutorials to which I'll give her links. Supposedly her husband knows PowerPoint, but she doesn't know whether he has the patience to teach her. Probably NOT since he already friggin' knows why she brought the Laptop over the other day and he didn't volunteer, "Hey! Don't worry about it. I'll teach her." Not that I have any proof, but Ehhh, frankly I doubt he knows much about PowerPoint. http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/LOL.gif -

A Slide Projector? How quaint.
That reminded me of Christmas Day.
My oldest niece's 4-year old boy was super busy and focused on playing games on his i-Pad. Okay, so the inscription on the back of the i-Pad says it's his and his Mom's. Anyway, the little boy was busy playing games on the high tech i-Pad. Someone comes over, "LOOK, Diego! Look what aunt ____ got you. Shake it and see what it does." So, the little boy reluctantly takes his attention away from his i-Pad and ho-humly shakes the Low Tech toy ... maybe some Train Engine or something along those lines. The low tech toy vibrates and makes some noise. The 4-year old boy just makes some gesture of "Oh, Okay." And he immediately goes back to playing with his high tech i-Pad.

Actually, someone asked me to install Powerpoint for them a few weeks ago. (or rather, they asked for, "the software for presentations."
Since I didn't have Powerpoint, I promptly obliged and asked them for a usb flash drive. And then went and installed the Portable Apps platform to it with Libre Office.
I spoke to him today and he was very impressed with Impress.

I had been, "I'm sure that Impress thing is Linux-related." http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/LOL.gif - So it's the Libre Office version of PowerPoint then.
A year or 2 ago I tried the Open Office equivalents of PowerPoint and Word. I wasn't impressed. I think I messed around with them for one or two afternoons and that was it. I uninstalled them. I had heard rave reviews that they were virtually 100% compatible with the original MS versions. Not true. The quality of what is displayed is also NOT identical.
I wouldn't want to gamble that I'd make a Presentation with Libre Office and then count on that in front of 200 people ... PowerPoint was going to be able to open that Presentation and display it exactly as I created it and without any surprise gremlins, anomalies or whatever undesired nightmares.
Anyway ... Jail Babas?
Is that South African for Jail Babes?
Or South African for Jail Neanderthals?
