I Believe...

I received this in an email today. I realized these are things I truly Believe and felt the urge to share them with you.

A Birth Certificate shows we were born
A Death Certificate shows we died
Pictures show we lived!

Have a seat...Relax. ..And read this slowly.

I Believe...
Just because two people argue,
Doesn't mean they don't love each other.
And just because they don't argue,
Doesn't mean they do love each other.

I Believe...
We don't have to change friends if
We understand friends change.

I Believe....
True friendship continues to grow, even over
The longest distance. Same goes for true love.

I Believe...
You can do something in an instant
That will give you heartache for life.

I Believe....
It's taking me a long time
To become the person I want to be.

I Believe...
You should always leave loved ones with Loving words.
It may be the last time you see them.

I Believe...
You can keep going long after you think you can't.

I Believe...
We are responsible for what we do,
no matter how we feel.

I Believe...
Either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I Believe.....
Heroes are the people who do what has to be done
When it needs to be done, regardless of consequences.

I Believe...
Money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I Believe...
Sometimes the people you expect to kick you
When you're down will be the ones to help you get back up.

I Believe...
Sometimes when I'm angry,
I have the right to be angry,
But that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe...
Maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had
And what you've e learned from them, and less to do
With how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I Believe...
It isn't always enough to be forgiven by others;
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself..

I Believe...I
No matter how bad your heart is broken,
The world doesn't stop for your grief.

I Believe...
Two people can look at the exact same
Thing and see something totally different..

I Believe...
Your life can be changed in a matter of
Hours by people who don't even know you.

I Believe...
Even when you think you have no more to give, when
A friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.

I Believe...
Credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

I Believe....
The people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

I Believe.....
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the most of anything.

Very interesting, Annette.
A lot of truth to pretty much most of those.
For some reason, this one stuck out at me:

I Believe...
Two people can look at the exact same
Thing and see something totally different..

Such sweet comments. heart Thanks Graham, Carlos, and Jen. It's great to know you appreciate the things I do. My favorite is:

You're Welcome 'Auntie Ann'

sad( I try to do that! (Your quote)

Never works for me. Maybe I'm just having a bad decade! p

SummerAngel Thursday, February 26, 2009 12:48:22 AM

I don't know how to do the (Your quote) either Jen. The best I can do is copy and paste. But, we will learn, someone will take pity on us and teach us how to do the FUN things! up heart angel

Suntana Thursday, February 26, 2009 1:30:49 AM

Okay, Annette ... Jen, I'll show you two how to display a quote by someone.

NOTE: In my explanation, I'm going to use Curly Brackets instead of the Square Brackets that are supposed to be used because if I use the Square Brackets, the Comment Box will try to execute the BBC Code in my explanation and screw up my explanation.

You Copy & Paste the text you want to quote.
You enclose that text in a {quote=Name} Start Tag and a {/quote} End Tag.
For example, if I wanted to quote Jen above, I would go:

{quote=Jen}Never works for me. Maybe I'm just having a bad decade!{/quote}

Of course, I'd actually use the Square Brackets.

Thank you Mark.

I Believe...
We should take the time to reflect on the things we believe,
Because our beliefs form the person we are.

JenJavaen Thursday, February 26, 2009 4:20:51 AM

Just like whisper but it's a quote.

up gotcha. Thanks Carlos!

Suntana Thursday, February 26, 2009 3:40:54 PM

Speaking of I believe ... I believe I can give y'all another Tip. If y'all ever want to give some text the BOLD ... Underline ... or Italics Text Attribute here in the Comments Boxes, here is how you do it.

NOTE: In my explanation, I will be using Curly Brackets instead of the Less Than & Greater Than Signs that should be used. Otherwise, as y'all know the routine by now, the Comment Box would try to execute the BBC Code and screw up my explanation.

To assign the appropriate Text Attribute to some text:
Enclose the desired text in the particular Start Tag & End Tag.

For BOLD Text --- {b} & {/b}
For Underlined Text --- {u} & {/u}
For Italics Text --- {i} & {/i}

Here is an example of how you would type it out:
This is {b}BOLD{/b} Text.
This is {u}Underlined{/u} Text.
This is {i}Italics{/i} Text.

Of course, REMEMBER ... you would use the Less Than & Greater Than Signs instead of the Curly Brackets.

Suntana Thursday, February 26, 2009 4:12:07 PM

As y'all can see in my last sentence above, you CAN nest Text Attributes as I used the Bold & Underline Text Attributes together. You do however, have to make sure you keep the Start Tag / End Tag Pairs together from the inside out around the text. Here is what I mean. This is how you would type it out to nest - Bold, Underlined and Italics:

This is {b}{u}{i}Bold Underlined Italics{/i}{/u}{/b} Text.

Of course, REMEMBER ... you would use the Less Than & Greater Than Signs instead of the Curly Brackets.

NOTE: You do NOT have to necessarily start out with the Bold Start Tag. You can actually nest the Start Tags in any order. However, what you DO have to pay attention to is to make sure that you do type out the End Tags in Inverse order to the Start Tags as I did in my example.

@suntana
oh that is so cool. and good of you to distribute for us coding illiterates.

SummerAngel Thursday, February 26, 2009 11:11:43 PM

Scott,

Carlos is very sweet and generous with his coding illustrations, but he won't let me have a Coke on his blog cry

Suntana Thursday, February 26, 2009 11:21:47 PM

You are welcome, ArtMan! I always enjoy learning new stuff like that from others here on the OC. So, I have no problem sharing it with others. I'm actually NOT remotely an expert myself at this stuff. I just know a little bit of simple HTML. I have several HTML / CSS sites bookmarked, but I have yet to find one which I really like. They all seem to start out pretty good. Then I'll reach a point where I'm not liking how they're presenting the material. So, I drift away. I really need to buy some good books on HTML and CSS.

SummerAngel Thursday, February 26, 2009 11:24:38 PM

Yea, Carlos FINALLY gave me a Coke bigsmile

Suntana Thursday, February 26, 2009 11:24:54 PM

Annette, go check. I finally delivered. You've got your Coke! yes Of course, I'm sure I'm quickly gonna catch some flak from the Pepsi drinkers and the whatever else drinkers. lol

JenJavaen Thursday, February 26, 2009 11:42:18 PM

*pipes in* Carlos taught me almost everything I know

And he created the look for my blog. yes And it's awesome!

SummerAngel Thursday, February 26, 2009 11:52:58 PM

I agree Jen, your blog looks awesome. up Thanks for the Coke Carlos, I feel sooooooooo special. I may even let you SIT on E's bed flirt

JenJavaen Friday, February 27, 2009 12:01:39 AM

*giggles* Hmmm...

Annette, what would happen if I, say, give you twenty ice cold, delicious Coke's ??? whistle

SummerAngel Friday, February 27, 2009 12:09:38 AM

Jumping up and down, out of my mind with excitement, SUGAR-CAFFINE rush. Bouncing off the walls--I see white coat's coming to take me away, hay hay.

sing
They're coming to take me away, hee hee
They're coming to take me away, haw haw
Away, hee hee
Away, haw haw
They're coming to take me awayyyyyyyy!!!

JenJavaen Friday, February 27, 2009 1:09:53 AM

lol I better get more than sitting on a bed. bigsmile

SummerAngel Friday, February 27, 2009 10:59:34 PM

How about.......I let you sit on E's bed with Carlos? bigsmile

<href=http://werbach.com/barebones/download.html></href>

scott cummingI_ArtMan Saturday, February 28, 2009 2:24:40 AM

i thought that might make it a link... but nooooooooo cry what does href mean anyway. i thought it was html code for link. faint

SummerAngel Saturday, February 28, 2009 2:38:32 AM

SummerAngel Saturday, February 28, 2009 2:43:32 AM

Scott,

To post a link in the comment box, I highlight it in the address bar, hit:

Ctrl C

go to the comment box and when I get to the point I want to place the link hit:

Ctrl V

scott cummingI_ArtMan Saturday, February 28, 2009 2:47:42 AM

that's what i tried the first time. it wasn't a link, just the letters for the address. i'll try again.
http://werbach.com/barebones/download.html

scott cummingI_ArtMan Saturday, February 28, 2009 2:48:29 AM

weird. it worked that time. mystery.

SummerAngel Saturday, February 28, 2009 3:28:05 AM

Hmmm, can't think of what might have gone wrong the first time. Glad to see it worked for you this time. I don't know what the href is either. Maybe someone will enlighten us.

scott cummingI_ArtMan Saturday, February 28, 2009 3:34:58 AM

i knew some of this stuff once but i seem to have forgotten most of it.
i did build my own website after all. happy

SummerAngel Saturday, February 28, 2009 3:49:57 AM

I know very little, but as someone imparts their knowledge, I try to copy and paste it in a Word document which I back up on an external hard drive often.

scott cummingI_ArtMan Saturday, February 28, 2009 3:54:22 AM

that's a good thing to do. up

Suntana Saturday, February 28, 2009 4:20:13 AM

Scott, I bookmarked that site. I'll see if I take a look in there on Saturday and when I get a chance after that.

Those sites that I have tried, I think most of them eventually end up lacking examples. They seem to just give you a brief COLD description of what the Code will do ... and what the Start Tag & End Tag is and that's it. No elaboration. So, a lot of times, I would THINK a certain Code, certain HTML Tags were what I needed to accomplish something. I'd try them out. And Wooooooosh! I would Strike Out. Either nothing would happen or the results would be nothing like what I wanted. Then that's when I'll abort my project.

Hey , Scott, I know what you mean about forgetting most of something you knew. Back in around 2002, I taught myself Microsoft Access. I mean, I created 2 databases from scratch, complete with fancy screen forms, Bells & Whistles ... the Works! I didn't get around to engaging in another project. So, I have now forgotten everything I learned about MS Access. cry

scott cummingI_ArtMan Saturday, February 28, 2009 5:07:07 AM

@carlos,
yes, same thing happened to me with dreamweaver. dreamweaver is easy if you keep it simple and build on that simplicity. but i forgot even that. then someone hired me to do a website for him. i did learn it faster than the first time, but he wanted so much that i didn't know yet. i wound up spending three months on it.

"dreamweaver" is so great and user friendly... that's what i recommend more than anything. smile
i didn't write a line of code for my website:

Scott, you were in the right ballpark.
"href" IS used for making a link. It's just you needed some other Tags and the right syntax. Here's the link on how to make any word / text into a Link:
