Merry CHRISTmas

CHRISTmas is my favorite holiday. I love all the beautiful decorations, delicious foods, awesome presents, laughter and love of family and friends as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. I wish everyone reading this post a joyous and blessed Merry CHRISTmas.

It just wouldn't be CHRISTmas in my house without hearing My Man Elvis sing Blue CHRISTmas. This video is from his '68 Comeback Special. His good looks and amazing voice were at their peak during this filming IMO. I hope you enjoy him as much as I do.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
When you finish putting it together,
watch what happens.

I would like to thank my talented friend Sunny, aka (Suntana) for creating this beautiful Christmas Theme for my blog. He has created blog themes for some of his other Opera friends and has them listed on the right hand side of his blog under (Suntana's Blog Designs). Swing by his blog and check out his other awesome designs.

My very favorite Elvis songs are Love Me Tender and Amazing Grace. Blue Christmas is my favorite Elvis Christmas tune. Elvis said in his '68 Comeback Special that Santa Claus is Back in Town was his favorite Christmas song.

Merry CHRISTmas to you too Hulkie. I sincerely hope you get to spend it with all your loved ones. heart

L2D2 Thursday, December 3, 2009 8:02:10 PM

This is my favorite Elvis Christmas song. I used to have his Christmas album, way back when, but it got stolen while I was in France. I just recently picked up the LP at Timeless Books and Music store here.

Elvis' voice has always, and probably always will, give me goose pimples. Thanks for the post Annette. Hope you have a merry and blessed CHRISTMAS. We do not have happy holiday in MY family.

SummerAngel Thursday, December 3, 2009 8:13:21 PM

Awww Linda, thank you so much. I know Christmas will be especially hard for you this year with the recent loss of your dear sister. My heart goes out to you and your family. I pray you find moments of happiness this season with the loved ones you have left on this earth.

Love and Hugs to you my dear friend.

FYI, I didn't mean my family won't have a happy Christmas, I was just referring to the fact that Christ is the reason for the season and it will always be CHRISTmas to me and mine---not Holiday.

SummerAngel Thursday, December 3, 2009 9:38:47 PM

I agree. up Every time an employee is forced to tell me happy holiday's, (at the bank, department store, grocery store, etc) I smile and say "And Merry CHRISTmas to you."

Have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS Annette! I hope it will be all you want it to be, and more!yes love

SummerAngel Friday, December 4, 2009 1:51:41 PM

Hulkie, I think Xmas got started because long ago a lot of people were illiterate and therefore signed their name with an X on legal documents and a literate person would witness the signature of the illiterate person. I don't know what Einstein decided to use X instead of Christ, but that is the explaination I was given when I asked the very same question you did. confused

SummerAngel Friday, December 4, 2009 1:57:06 PM

Merry Christmas to you too Risis. heart I hope everything is well with you. I will stop by your blog and visit when I get to it in my News feeds. yes

SummerAngel Friday, December 4, 2009 2:07:01 PM

I agree D, out Master Blog Designer did a wonderful job on both our blogs. I heart both our themes. I saw yours in the 'lab'. smile Do you have it up on your blog yet? I am ashamed to say that most of the time I just read and comment on the post my news feed directs me to, and I do not always look at the header and background. lol I will be sure to look to see if it's up when I come to you in my feeds. up

Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope it's the best ever for you. heart

KimberlySqueakeyCat Saturday, December 5, 2009 2:30:58 AM

yes, i know he did it, but its still a beautiful set up, and you had to like it in order for it to get put there, so it was your choosing that did the final touch.

Hi Angel! Merry Christmas to you too!
I've been running around doing errands so I didn't take the time to reply to the notice about your blog. I wanted to wait until I could open up the netbook. Even it doesn't do justice to the Youtube feed. I hope the holydays are all you expect of them. wink
Have a good New years too party cheers

SummerAngel Sunday, December 6, 2009 7:02:00 PM

Got 'em done but it's supposed to rain most of next week and it's cloudy now so I'm conserving battery.
It's been getting down to about freezing but it doesn't get much lower than that and warms up into the 60's during the day.
Got the tent up right now so it's not too bad. It's roomier than an iron maiden.
wink

Excuse my ignorance, but what prey tell is an iron maiden?

There certain ARE a lot of decorations AND tons of food and parties. No wonder one of the most common New Year's resolution is to exercise more. lol

That reminds me. In half an hour, I'm gonna have to decide whether I want to engage in a Workout to make up for the one that never really materialize yesterday. Sundays are supposed to be days off from exercising. But, since yesterday I just never quite got going, I'd like to make up for that. Gotta make some room for all that food that's gonna be thrust in our face every which way we turn in the next couple of weeks.

Sooo, Annette ... Blue Christmas is your favorite Elvis Christmas tune, huh? What about ... which is your favorite Porky Pig Christmas tune? Would it possibly also be Blue Christmas?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUELu8o5KJg

I don't know if I did that correctly since y'all know I'm NOT remotely a YouTube Wizard. Some of y'all might have heard it, but it is positively hilarious! lol

Suntana Sunday, December 6, 2009 11:38:13 PM

BTW ... you are very welcome, Annette! It was my pleasure putting together this Christmas Blog Theme for you. It makes me very happy to see you very happy with it. yes happy Thanks for the Promo for Suntana Blog Designs. up

Annette, Iron Maiden was a hard rock group 70s and 80s, but what he is referring to is the iron maiden that was coffin shaped and full of spikes. Torture device. Person was placed in this sarcophagus-type container and lid closed. Stuck lots of holes in them. Inquisition used it I believe, as I am sure others did also.

It is now. up That video is way too cute. Thanks Sunny. bigsmile heart

Tom RondelloFrlmnk Monday, December 7, 2009 12:34:50 AM

It was a torture device used in the dark ages as depicted, a little differently, in "the Who's" rock opera about turtles, hares and Christmas cookies.
Since I still can't get Hawaii out of my mind - Mele ka liki ma!
Have you ever bodysurfed on the north shore of Oahu in the winter?
(Please excuse me if my Hawaiian isn't quite correct)
Don't wait for the sea shells to get beached. There won't be anything left by that time.

SummerAngel Monday, December 7, 2009 2:46:11 PM

Thank you Linda, Hulkie, and Tom for the explanation of an iron maiden. yes cool

I've never been to Hawaii Tom sad and from the looks of things right now, sea shells will be extinct before I get there. cry

Tom RondelloFrlmnk Monday, December 7, 2009 7:19:31 PM

KimberlySqueakeyCat Tuesday, December 8, 2009 8:00:14 AM

SummerAngel Wednesday, December 9, 2009 5:09:26 PM

I overslept and called in again last night. (Will probably get written up for that one sad 1st write up ever)

I decided to check Opera News feeds. I had page loading problems then and they continue today. Some headers, side bars, and animations in blogs aren't loading for me even after refreshing. This is not happening when I visit other sites. Are you having a problem with this?

SummerAngel Wednesday, December 9, 2009 6:22:59 PM

We are having bad storms now, but that hasn't kept the sites I visit outside of Opera from loading fast and correctly. Maybe it will sort itself out soon. wink

Suntana Wednesday, December 9, 2009 8:50:05 PM

no Annette! We can't have you in trouble ... in the Doghouse! yikes Maybe they'll just give you a 10-minute Timeout. bigsmile

As to the loading problems?
I can't say that I've had those problems with my Suntana's Blog Trek. But, for a week or so, I've sometimes had problems over at SuntanaLab. Sometimes it seems to lockup, usually if I go from there to Suntana's Blog Trek and back.

Remember, Annette, they just installed that Opera Community Update on Monday. Usually anytime there are Updates, there are lingering glitches or outright problems for a while after them.

I know you don't use Opera. So, on your IE, try clearing out the Browser Cache, History, Cookies, Temporary Internet Files, Etc. You know ... a Disk Cleanup.

I frequently, probably every other day, perform a Private Data Clearing and Profile Reset on my Opera Browser and perform a Disk Cleanup on my Windows XP.

L2D2 Wednesday, December 9, 2009 11:18:24 PM

Chuck and Annette, I started having problems with hangups last night, and until this afternoon, I couldn't get anyone's blog designs to load unless they were default design. Like I couldn't see this background or header, not even on my own blog. And for several days have been having problem of hang ups when I go from blog to blog. It is acting OK, now, though, so yours should clear up shortly also.

Suntana Thursday, December 10, 2009 12:12:40 AM

After all, the Opera Devs DID tinker with the area where our File Storage is during this Monday's Update. They were preparing it for making it bigger to give us that 2 Gig of Storage Space when the OC reaches 3.5 Million Members. So, since they tinkered with that area, I guess it would make sense that we could possibly experience problems with our Blogs' images NOT displaying since our images are accessed from our File Storage.

Anyway, your Blog is displaying in its entirety at this instant, Annette.

Iain MacLeanimac Thursday, December 10, 2009 12:20:38 AM

Hi Annette. Love the new design. It's sooo glittery! Just perfect for Christmas.
