WELCOME

Glad you found your way to my beach. I'm sure you noticed there was no entrance fee or hours of operation. My beach is always open to everyone.

You can surf the waves or pull your chair up to the shoreline and let the warm salt water run over your tired aching feet. There are no fines for picking the sea oats and no limit on the amount of shells, star fish, and sand dollars you take with you when you leave.

After basking in the warm sunshine, I'm sure you will enjoy refreshments at the concession stand. Please drop me a comment and let me know you visited. And, come back soon and often.

If you like the Blog Design, please drop by the Great and Amazing Carlos (Suntana's) blog and let him know. He is responsible for teaching me CSS code and helping me put this site together.

Also, Jen (Javaen) is responsible for imparting to me her knowledge of how to make this WELCOME Sticky Post. Stop by, check out her cool graphics, and say hi to her.

Summer Angel's Beach ... I like that!

I've got my Shorts on. My shirt is off ... and everyone can see my Six Pack! :eyes: <Cough Cough> Uhhh, I got a Six Pack of Dr. Pepper at the concession stand. The Pizza tastes great ... Less filling ... Tastes great ... Less filling! Okay, so that was the ole Lite Beer commercial, cuz Pizza certainly isn't less filling. :D

Annette, it's been a pleasure watching you really get into learning about how to create your own Banners and how all you can customize your Blog.

Just to clarify, the CSS Code is NOT actually mine. I've acquired the CSS Code from a couple of other helpful Opera Community Members. Where I DO get into the picture is in helping Newbie Opera Community Members learn how to utilize that Code that is available to us ... put it in a Blender with their ideas and my ideas, sorta like making a Frozen Margarita  ... and create Banners and Blog themes.

It's great to read and see how much fun you're having experimenting with the Tips and ideas that I've given you, Annette! Glad I could help! And you know that you can toss me more questions when you're brainstorming.

I'll go check out the water now ..... SPLASH!

Mit 11. February 2009, 19:08

It's amazing to see "your house" now  It's so cool. Just stop to say that - now I must go for a walk on this special beach

SummerAngel 14. February 2009, 14:28

Carlos: Thanks for all your help. Enjoy your swim and come back to my beach anytime. Happy Valentines Day! Tomorrow, I will work on the Beach Theme.

thaodp: Enjoy your walk, and come back anytime.

Jen 14. February 2009, 15:48

Annette,

I TOLD you I didn't need credit. *blushes* And thank you for the lovely setting here, and the nice words about me and my page. You are just too sweet. Your page is  and I doubt Carlos can train me to do that!

Reading some of your stuff feels very natural. I think we have some things in common. Consider me subscribed.

Carlos, as usual, you rock! How much doesth the Opera women loveth Carlos? flirt Too mucheth to measure. P:

SummerAngel 15. February 2009, 19:24

Jen,

I am a woman of my word, and I had already posted when I read your reply  I love your page, and the Great and Amazing Carlos can teach anyone. From the looks of your site, you have surpassed me already. :queen:

I am glad you feel at home here. I grew up in Jacksonville, FL. I now live in the mountains with the cold weather and snow. I miss the beach, so I created my own virtual beach.

Yes, we Opera women loveth Carlos!

Jen 15. February 2009, 20:12

I did nothing but cut and paste his work (and Mik and Andrew's)

I'm not at all to receive credit for my page.

My Dad is a good 'ol boy from Okachobe, FL. And now he lives in Indiana. He knows how you feel about the ocean and the beach.

Suntana 15. February 2009, 20:48

Well, Jen, in theory, I COULD teach you to make your own Banners and to put the themes together. But, you'd have to have a computer. Well, actually a lot of people, like Furie, put their theme creations strictly by Phone. :yikes: But, I wouldn't know how to do that. So, teach someone to do these things the way I do it, would have to be done via computer. And it certainly helps if the Creation Bug bites you. Annette was bitten by the Creation Bug and she's been having a blast experimenting.

Suntana 15. February 2009, 21:00

And Carlos loveth Annette & Jen!
Hey, Annette, did you ever get your computer fixed? Did you put it in the corner and give it a Timeout so it would stop its tantrum?

I'm looking forward to seeing your Beach creation as well.
Summer Angel's Beach does have a nice, warm ring to it.
So yes, a Beachy theme would be awesome!

Since you really  CSS, Annette, I'm gonna be sending you some more. I acquired some more CSS Code / Effects from Mik Furie and Lorenzo Celsi. I already incorporated them into Jen's Blog and my Blog. There is the Code for the Colored or Patterned Headings in the different Sidebar areas. There is the Code for customizing the wording in the Menu instead of using the default words. There is Code for adding Colored Shadows to the Blog Posts' Titles. Are you starting to drool over the sound of these CSS Goodies, Annette? Do you need a Bib?

SummerAngel 16. February 2009, 20:04

Carlos,

I am still working on the computer problems. Vista is not playing nice with Office or the wireless printer. Even if I do a system restore to factory settings, I will probably still have these problems. The good thing is, there has been no virus or spyware detected.

I checked out Jen's and your blogs, OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOh, I like. And, I need a bib...or two. Since Valentines Day is over, I should get started on my beach.

Jen 16. February 2009, 20:10

Hope you get all the kinks worked out, Annette. Be sure to tell me when to check it out.

LanaBanana 26. February 2009, 18:45

Hi Annette,

Just popped in to say hello!

banana

SummerAngel 26. February 2009, 23:06

Lana,

So glad you came. Come back often, and I will give you banana banana banana 's to enjoy as you walk down my beach.

Minette 23. March 2009, 20:38

I am enjoying my visit very much. Sometimes I miss Florida but I love New Hampshire too much to have stayed there.
I'm listening to your friend's post with another window open, beautiful music, beautiful people, beautiful beach.
What more could a soul need?

SummerAngel 24. March 2009, 13:34

Thanks Minette, I miss FL too, but I visit often since my family still lives there. I now live in TN, so it's not that long of a drive.

Thanks for visiting Mark's page. Check out the rest of his site when you have time. He does amazing posts. I find his blog very calming and inspirational. And...I hope you will leave him a comment.

Minette 24. March 2009, 14:25

I've heard TN is very beautiful, I've never been there. I will check out Mark's page and leave a comment

SummerAngel 24. March 2009, 18:14

Tn is beautiful, especially the Smokey Mountain area. I do like living here in this slower paced life where there is less crime, but I miss the beach.

Minette 25. March 2009, 01:24

of course LOL! :D

hugh_chips 27. March 2009, 07:33

Hi. Your blog is beautiful. I love the color you use. And especially the banner. It makes me think about the pleasure of a summer vacation. So great!

SummerAngel 27. March 2009, 13:02

Thank you hughchips. Welcome to my beach. I hope you enjoyed your visit and please come back often.

hugh_chips 27. March 2009, 13:54

Sure. I'll be back to your beach very often. It is nearly the summer time in my country, very soon, so it is very hot.:D

Jen 27. March 2009, 15:36

*Lays out under the sun as we have none again today*

SummerAngel 27. March 2009, 21:55

hughchips: It is not hot here yet. We have had some warm days, but we have snow in the forecast again. I am ready for summer. It's my favorite time of the year.

Jen, we haven't had any sun lately either. It's been raining for days and we haven't even gotten to the April showers  Maybe this snow forecast will be the last one and we can get on with summer.

L2D2 28. March 2009, 04:27

What a pretty blog. I thought I recognized Carlos touch. He is a honey isn't he? Saw you on glennos blog too. He is a really nice guy.

Jen 28. March 2009, 04:46

I hope so Annete! *crosses all her fingers and toesies*

And L2D2, I see you similarly around and abouts! (I'm Jen). What do you go by?

L2D2 28. March 2009, 04:48

I am Linda, Jen. Knew your name from Pam and Carlos.

Jen 28. March 2009, 04:53

Linda... So nice to officially meet you... I apologize if I didn't catch your name before. I try to remember everyone, but my head gets all spin-y and I have to lie down sometimes! :faint: :D. Met a ka-zillion people in these first three months!

L2D2 28. March 2009, 04:56

Isn't Summer Angel's blog design pretty? Wish I knew how to do this stuff. Maybe I could take a course at Tyler Jr. College. Is this C++?

Jen 28. March 2009, 05:02

Annette's blog is so gorgeous! :o:

And... Er... You'd have to find out from Carlos.

He probably could start a "blog page design for dummies" class and have it packed full of fans waiving banners and chanting his name!

L2D2 28. March 2009, 05:13

Well, I am all for that. Wonder if he has as large a fan base for his music?

Jen 28. March 2009, 05:18

 He should start charging a small fee for his design work so he can get high speed internet and post some of his music!

I've never heard any of it! *sulks*

Suntana 28. March 2009, 05:22

hi Linda! I'd like to take all the credit, but in this case, I have to give credit where credit is due. Yes, in the beginning I made Banners for Annette aka Summer Angel and Blog Themes. She was the 1st person here on the OC for whom I made a Banner and Blog Theme. However, she was immediately intrigued, fascinated and plain ole bitten by the CSS Bug. I showed her how this stuff works. I showed her how to make her own Banners in MS Word like I create mine. Annette picked it up very quickly. She's a smart, quick study, Protégé as she is a very nice lady and great friend. She very soon started Soloing with her Blog's LOOK / Design.

The LOOK that y'all now see in Annette's Blog is 100% her doing. The Banner, the Fixed Background, the Sidebar Headings, the animated Welcome sign ... everything is now HER creation / selection / doing. So, it now has totally HER touch. :headbang: :hat:

Only Jen's, Mags', Glenno's and Pams themes are still my creations.

Linda, just in case you did want to take a class at Tyler Jr. College, it is:
CSS Code and HTML Code that's involved in customizing the Blogs.

L2D2 28. March 2009, 05:28

Thanks Carlos for the info. DO you put a beacon on your name so you can go anywhere you are mentioned? See Glen's blog.:sherlock:

Suntana 28. March 2009, 05:46

Hey, Jen, I'm actually still learning a lot myself with this Blog designing. As I've said before, creating the Banners and selecting / fixing up a Background has never been the problem. It is the other Effects, Bells & Whistles that I still have a lot to learn. Just between yesterday and today, I finally got the Fixes to 2 problems that had been dogging me.

I finally initiated contact / communication with this other Opera Community Member - DrLaunch, whom I knew was supposed to be VERY Good with CSS / Blog Designing. I had just never gotten around to exploring the possibility if he could help me out with my CSS problems, inquiries and curiosities in general. He turned out to be a nice guy, extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. He very quickly BAMM! Had the Fixes to both the problems I tossed at him. He provided me with a link to this Blog Design site that he and Andrew (Southern Cross) have with some very good Info on CSS / Blog Design Goodies. With that Info in his site, I was able to on my own make a modification to my Blog's Sidebar Headings that I had been wanting to do.

DrLaunch said helping people made him merrier, so I told him I'd be tossing more inquiries at him. Of course, I added that I'd spread out my inquiries so as not to become a burdensome Pest.

Jen 28. March 2009, 05:49

Awesome! So I need to check out your page again? Up and ready for my viewing pleasure?

It's nice when people are generous with their talent and knowledge... Now you know how we all feel about you! :D

Suntana 28. March 2009, 05:50

A Beacon, Linda? Like the Bat Signal? :jester:
Well, in a way. But, it's just by default. You know ... the automatic Subscription that we all get on any Post on which we comment.

Jen 28. March 2009, 05:52

And I thought Annette was the one who did some of her own designing. I had no idea it is all her work! :eyes:

I'm super impressed!

Suntana 28. March 2009, 05:54

Just in case you can't tell what's different, Jen ...
I made the Sidebar Heading Backgrounds taller and thus incorporated a Bigger Font and changed it to Verdana Font.

I want to do the same to the Menu. I'll have to see if the Info is in DrLaunch's site. If not, chances are he'll be able to show me how to do it.

Jen 28. March 2009, 05:56

 Gotcha!

*hikes over to check it out*

L2D2 28. March 2009, 06:10

Just jokin' with you Carlos. Would never seriously accuse such a nice guy of using spyware. I am on my way to your blog to see if I can see any difference. Glad you found someone to help you out. Best way to learn is pick brains of those with know-how.

SummerAngel 28. March 2009, 06:34

Linda, to my beach. I'm so happy to see you here, and I hope you will return often. Thank you for the compliment on my blog design, but all the credit goes to Carlos, aka Suntana, for teaching me everything I know.

Jen, thank you for your compliment also. I know my banner/background creations fail in comparison to the ones Carlos designs, but I hope I am getting better with each one. I am continually learning things to experiment with. I now have a whole wardrobe of banners.

Carlos, great you are learning new things. Your blog looks great. I also checked out your creations on the other blogs. They are beautiful. It is very sweet of you to help all of us by making our sites so pretty.

L2D2 28. March 2009, 07:13

Annette is it? Thank you for your welcome. You and Carlos have a mutual admiration society going because he gives you all the credit. I am meeting such nice people on Opera community. Will visit again. I am heading for the bed now--gonna snuggle up with a good book. Has gone from hot to 37degrees since yesterday.

SummerAngel 28. March 2009, 07:34

Linda, I am also meeting many nice and interesting people on Opera. My name is Annette, and you are welcome here anytime. Have a good

L2D2 28. March 2009, 07:43

Suntana 2. April 2009, 16:36

Whew! I'm here quite a bit later than I thought I'd be.
But, I was running ragged with something.

Anyway ...

Heyyyyy, there Budeeeee!

:hat: Happy Birthday, Annette! :queen:
It's been a great pleasure knowing you.
You've been surprisingly well-behaved! :yikes:
