My trip to Paris! By Ole...

Today the 10th of July I came home from Paris, the city of light. Paris is called the city of light because of the wounderful scenery at night and also because she was one of the first cities wich had street light.
My trip to Paris was for pleasure. Me and my family went there as a kind of last vacation together as mother, father, son, and doughter. Hence this trip was special. We left Oslo on friday morning the 4th of July. This date is also the date at which the United States decleard their independence from the UK.
Well, the first day (4th of July) me and my family went to Versailles. This majestic palace was the home of Louis 16 and Marie Antoinette until they were imprisoned and beheaded at Place De Concord. This palace is the most magnificent and wounderfull palace I have ever seen. It is larger and more elegant than Buckingham Palace in Londen, and our own Royal Palace here in Oslo. The palace garden is what I would call the Palace forrest. I would guess that the garden was almost as large as the city of Lillestrom outside Oslo. It was huge. You could say that the garden match the palace in size
Inside the royal palace of Versailles there were large and precious paintings of the three kings hwo lived there, also the decoration of all the room (at least those I saw) had the theme of all the planets in our galaxie which circumvate our sun. It is said that the king of France thought of himself as the Sun God, this would explain why the king signed official papers with a sun.
One particular room in this palace was the grandest room of them all, it was the Hall of Mirrors. It was long, hughe and bright and contained i think 72 Mirrors made of mercury. In this room the VERSAILLES treaty which ended the WWII was signed.
On the 5th of July the weather wasn't as great as on the the 4th of July, hence we went shopping at Galeries Lafayatte. This was the first shopping mall bouilt in Paris in 1893. Later this evening we ate at a café/restaurant viewing the EiffelTower at night. This evening was to celebrate my parants wedding aneversery. Thw tower was blue this evening and every whole hour it sparkled. It was just the perfect setting this evening.
On the 6th of July we woke up early to go to Palais du Louvre. This is as everybody whoud know the worlds largest art museum, the most famous piece of art in this museum is Da Vinci's Mona Lisa. Of course I took a picture of this painting, and so did everybody in that crowded room.
On the 7th of July we didn't do anything special. We went to a shopping mall containing 200 stores, many more restaurants and a cinema. We actually planned to watch a movie at this cinema but all the movies were shown in french language. Instead we went to a cinema near the Royal Paris Opera (by the way this opera is the one which inspired the author of "The Phantom of the Opera").
On the 8th of July we visited the Eiffeltower and we took the elevator the whole way to the top. the view up there was breathtaking (not because I am scared of hights
On the 9th of July we visited The Sacré-Cæur basilica, and went from there to Moulin Rouge. After this we saw the Pompidu Centr, which is a modern art museum. Later that day we went to the Latin Quarter and saw the night life there.
The best moment in this trip was when I found out that I passed the IB diploma programme. I got a total of 32 points which means that I do not need to take a fourth year at High School. It was such a relief and we celebrated this milestone by eating at an italian restaurant which by the way I will not recomend
Now I will end this blog but I will be back
