Third in the row for Schumacher and third in the row for Ferrari for this season. They simply blew away the competition in Bahrain, which rather looked deserted for an F-1 venue; but brilliant race none the less. If there were any doubts about Michael’s commitment or capability considering the success he has had, you had to see Saturday’s qualifying. And his race today was simply fantastic.
So, is the formula-1 getting boring? I beg to differ. Ferrari might have a huge budget, but that guarantees nothing. They work hard and they get what they deserve. McLaren has a pretty awesome budget but they are competing with the relatively smaller teams in the fray today! Rules were changed to stop their domination, which instead gave them more advantage over the others. The latest rules that make teams to run with one engine per car per weekend, actually helps Ferrari as their recent cars are known for their reliability. McLaren are suffering coz of this condition. And the recent removal of driver aids like traction control and launch control actually helps drivers like Michael Schumacher who are more experienced and have driven the cars of older generations. You cannot blame a team for being good. Blame the competition for indulging in useless crap, the blame games, the snatching of other team guys and other shit.
Kimi Raikkonen, the unfortunate Finn. He is in my opinion trying to go for a win in every race while he should consider finishing one with the car he has. Dunno what model of car they are running. All round the year last season they were claiming their new car will be revolutionary. We are yet to see that car. Williams with its new nose is coming pretty close to Ferrari but with the drivers they have, I am not surprised to see what we saw Ralf doing today. I would like to see what goes inside Montoya’s head when ever he sees a McLaren emitting smoke with a blown engine which has become rather common today.
With Toyota and Honda in the fray, we are definitely going to see Japanese domination rather sooner than later. And Bar-Honda is getting there in that direction. They had a 2nd consecutive podium finish and Jenson Button is actually ahead of Montoilet in the driver’s championship. Future looks bright! India and Indians on the other hand have a long way to go. It’s a shame that a country like Bahrain has its own F1 race on the calendar and Indians are no where in the contention.
Perhaps, we should worry about providing clear water to the people first. These gizmos can come another time. I don’t expect to see Schumacher drive a Ferrari in India no matter whether he is going for his tenth title.
