Trying to make an aweful day a better one

That’s great, people are defending Google on it’s decision to block my site from using adsense. Very interesting. People make fake sites just to grab some dough from Google using its adsense. And me, writing some genuine (although mostly crap) content on my Blog is an invalid case just because it happens to be a personal Blog. Who cares? This Blog was, is and shall remain a personal Blog for personal expression of ranting, musings, and glee. And if it does not earn back something, I am fine with it!

Today was a bad day. I had a bad cold yesterday. It became fever in the morning and I was literally a mess throughout the day. Took out sometime to get a break and watch a movie. And Matchstick Men was indeed a nice movie. I have seen many movies on con man getting conned themselves. But Ridley Scott’s version was pretty awesome. People compared the ending of the movie to the endings of the movies like Fight Club and The Sixth Sense, which I think is pretty much justified. But the sad thing is that I was one of the only 7 people who were watching the movie in the hall. The hall had just me when I entered 5 minutes before the movie started! That was KINDA SCARY...

why do i hate google and sify broadband

What the fuck?
I am using bad language because I don’t have a reason not to do so. In fact I have 2 reasons to do so today.
My net was down today the whole day in fact. It was fixed in the evening by the local cable guy but the fix apparently lasted for 5 minutes as it went down again. Sify Broadband support guys are polite and helpful guys, but there is not enough man power to support my entire area. Apparently there are just 2 guys to manage the entire Panchkula region. So late is my problem fixed, that I have no other option but to take the day off at office. I have I guess lost almost same amount of money in lost pay days this month that I pay Sify Broadband for the net in the entire month. And they respond by saying that we will compensate for the lost days with free packages of a week or so. In fact I already have a free 1 week unlimited 128 kbps package that I have still not used. But my question is, when the net is not even working for 2 days consecutively, how I would utilize my freebies and feel good enough for the lost pay days!
Google. First it hated my Blog so much that for 2 years it did not consider it good enough to index properly. Last week it apparently did as it gave me a decent enough PR and regular index updates. But now, apparently I am not fit enough to run adsense on my site to recover some of the expenses of my hosting. It rejected my site for usage of inappropriate language. Hmm, I don't find anything that offensive on my Blog. I am not selling Viagra or showing off porn. But nope. My site is not worthy enough.
So no reasons to be polite anymore. This Blog will be what it was supposed to be in the first place. A place to take out the venom, the anger on the bad things of life. And Sify broadband and Google seem to be 2 fit cases.

Michael Schumacher conquerors Malaysia

And how can I forget, another sweeeeet victory for Michael Schumacher! Suckers can keep crying...

manly mobile?

Update on this post, it costed me 300 bucks but my mobile is not longer PINK. Wahoo...

look who has me on his blog!

The guy in the glasses is Tantek Çelik. He looks like a cool guy. Matt says he is one. He works at Microsoft and was a primary developer of the Internet Explorer for Mac team. He is also involved in XFN thingy with Matt. And he has me (read that my blog) in his blog. Matt says it's becoz I use XFN. Even if he has never read a word of my Blog, I still think it is awesome! This is l33t stuff.
Thank you Tantek! You are the man. I loved Mac IE when I used it on a G4. It made IE for Windows look like piece of crap...

Reliance Ka Broadband Bharat

Just saw an interview of Mukesh Ambani of the Reliance Industries on CNBC about their broadband project currently underway in India, and the subtle hints I got from that interview is that they are planning to converge cable TV, telephone and broadband services under a common umbrella and the probable brand name is Bharat Broadband. He also told the channel that he thinks that value for money would be giving 10 times the services for the same money a consumer pays for them today.

Well, if he can give me 10 times the speed in the same price I am paying Sify Broadband, I had be a happy guy. The net was down the whole day and it sucked like hell!

i really cannot afford an apple for another 800 months

After some Microsoft bashing some days back, today it's the turn of the Apple's website. I just went to their online Indian store to see how much premium they charge from the people of this developing country with so pathetic per capita income that it surprises people of the developed world that how could anyone here who want to buy original software can actually afford to do so! The prices were as expected shocking to me. But nothing shocked me more than the small typo they had on the MAIN PAGE!

They listed a Power G5 Mac for a cooool $158,600. That comes to around 7,137,000 INR. Whew... That is almost 800 months of my current salary. Yeah, I don't earn good money p: . But still it's a stupid stupid typo, enough to cause some heart aches to the general public...

finally some respite from google! i got pagerank…

Woot! Finally, it happened. After almost 2 years of my blood and sweat that I spent on this crappy Blog, Google finally decided to show some respect for my effort. It finally gave me some PR. And pretty decent one too as far as I can see it! This really feels good.
sushubh : operamaniac | WPer | tifosi now has a pretty respectable google pagerank!

India and the phenomena known as Sachin Tendulkar

Pakistan bounced back today with a thrilling victory over India and the series is now leveled at 1 all. Another Sachin knock goes in vain. I am not a cricket buff so have a short memory regarding the cricket matches. But still I can't think of a recent match that was won on a Sachin century. If I ask this question to any of my friends, the best they can come up with is the series in Sharjah against Australia . Sachin lost the label of being a match winner long time back in my opinion. He failed us in the world cup final. He failed us in the finals of the series down under. He scored a double ton in one of the test match in Australia which in my opinion ended up costing us a test series win abroad. And he has failed so many times that I feel it very funny when he is rated as the number one batsmen in the world today. Since when did cricket become a game of individuals! If the team loses, any personal achievement means nothing. And Sachin has achieved nothing when compared to the likes of Hayden / Symonds and many others. Wanna call me biased? Call me. I speak from my mind...
And no matter how badly or how many times Australia has beaten India , we are always happy thinking about those matches in Sharjah. And god forbid, I have lost count of how many one day matches were termed as the revenge matches after the drubbing we got in the world cup final.

Opera Browser: More power to the user

Getting more out of your browser seems to be the mantra these days. I have started using Opera for things I have not used it for sometime now. It is now not only my browser, it checks my mails, manages my RSS syndications, I chat all night long on IRC, discuss formula-1 in newsgroups. Got some really cool bookmarklet to help me in my official stuff, got Search INI editor to make my custom search toolbars that saves me quiet some time in; again, office stuff. It's almost like the extension of the OS that I really can't do without and its just 3.5 Megs download! Technology never had such an excellent example of more bang per byte of download!
Hail Opera Developers. You rock!
