Beyond the Clouds

Does your mind register all the knots?
How about the twists and turns
and tangled spots
of distorted views and misperceived plots

Mine hammers and stammers away the nots
the shoulds and musts
and forbidden thoughts
of darkened sins and evil shots

so what is left is not the don'ts, won'ts and forbidden nos
but the aches and pain of stress and fear
for the don't goes and the worry flows
stressed and tensed and full of oughts

when the master says don't fear, dont't panic, just let it go
the slave hears fear, panic and so it goes
cos the mind latches only what it can feel
and don'ts and won'ts are hollow echoes

But oh! When frail vulnerabilities expose
or other such strong and powerful prose
of love and beauty and truth revealed
the heart is mended and the spirit grows

so next time the self starts to crow
Don't be stupid! Don't get it wrong!
Think twice and change the tune and song
to affirm the beauty and love from head to toes

for the move to stop the beating
of this useless heart
