utterly disengaged

the judge saw with the eye of wisdom
and acted with knowledge and knew and understood
the importance of ethics
and how he failed
time and time again
to meet his ideal moral standard
completely disillusioned
utterly disgusted
he fell into despair
the fool looked up at Amida
and felt moved by warmth and love
that opened her up to faith
to live without knowing
to love without fearing
and to move into the future
fully alive
