Somatic Therapy

Here's a bit of information about what Somatic Therapy is.

Somatic therapy is a profound complement to Buddhist and humanistic therapies
through its holistic concern with the integration of psyche, soma and spirit. The
cultivation of embodied consciousness is seen as crucial to its application in
professional practice, therefore experiential and personal process are explored and
supported throughout. Skills development through partner work, group process,
discussion and feedback, focuses on awareness practice, hands-on bodywork and
movement therapy
. Movement observation and the accurate identification and
perception of personal material is encouraged through study of specific body
systems, their integrity and integration, and their unconscious and conscious
expression. The interplay between eastern and western theories with somatic practice
offers further dimension to this enquiry
