Lizards and lilies

My new companions, lizards and lilies. How I envy them so! I need to camouflage and go unseen. I need to close up my petals at night and hide from the darkness.

But I come out when it's light and feel the warmth of the sun. And all of a sudden, quite unexpectedly, my heart opens briefly and then my needs take over again. Shame!





To my blog friends who have been wondering what has happened to me. I am in France, at our retreat centre, living a simple Buddhist life - communing with the splendours of nature and deepening my sense of the religious life.

I tried to put a picture of a lotus flower in the comment section but I couldn't figure out how to do that so I'll put a post called lotus on my blog so you can see what it looks like. It's very similar but also different.
