Fudge has several definitions, it can mean soft candy, talking rubbish, or cheating or avoiding coming to grips with something. Smudge is what you do when you smear or blur something so it's not clear or defined. Outlining is based putting a line around the edge of something. Or highlighting something with a darker pen so that it stands out.
I feel the closest I'll ever get to anything, or the best I can do in this lifetime is to outline the blurred lines, or the soft edges, the hard core is too difficult to see clearly.
