Just a week after the death of his mother, Donda, Kanye West launched a European tour in Paris on Saturday, but broke down after performing for an hour, according to People.com.

Toward the end of the hour-long show at Le Zenith, as "Hey Mama" began, West attempted to introduce the song, saying, "This song is for my mother ... " but could not continue, the magazine reported.

"He said the word, 'Mother,' and just couldn't go any further," Le Parisien journalist Meddy Magloire told the magazine. "A back-up singer, the DJ and a guitar player came over to console him. It looked like he might collapse. He just couldn't continue. He just stood there in a spotlight, crying, while the band continued playing." The song, from 2005's Late Registration, is a dedication to Donda.

After a few moments of stunned silence, Magloire said, the audience offered shouts of encouragement, which grew into applause.

West reportedly restarted the song but was unable to finish. He left the stage, returning after 10-15 minutes to conclude the concert with "Stronger," the magazine reported.

"He was very nervous, seemed to have gathered himself up, and had a lot of energy," Magloire told People. "He kept shouting out to the audience, 'I need you ... I need you right now.' and the public was screaming back. It was magic."

Jadakiss Signs To Roc-A-Fella

It’s official, Yonkers MC and member of the LOX Jadakiss has inked a new joint solo deal with Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records and Ruff Ryders. Although rumors of a move to Def Jam by Kiss have circulated for some time now, Jay-Z confirmed the deal during a recent show at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom. Kiss’s next album will be a joint venture between Roc-A-Fella and Ruff Ryders and is due out in 2008. The as yet untitled project will be Kiss’ third solo LP, after 2001’s Kiss The Game Goodbye and 2004’s Kiss of Death. Jay-Z and Kiss’s partner Sheek Louch have also confirmed that a deal to bring The LOX to Def Jam is also in the works, and should be complete in the near future.

I have a small feeling 2008 is going to be a good year for hip-hop. Of course, i can be wrong, i mean with saigon, budden, and etc. all dropping in dec im starting to hear alot good stuff lately.

This has a different sound than her other albums. But this IS on another level. Nobody makes an R & B/Soul album like this..NOBODY. I'm really tired of all these "R & B" artists that only make crunk ass club joints. Shit's stupid..this is the essence of R & B to me. I really likes it. Some songs don't stand out as much but if you listen to it as a whole it's so mellow and so uplifting.
