guns, books, grandma, reading
I was going to write a blog post about how I spent the last week, but I'm having difficulty forming my week into words that would make it sound exciting and wonderful. Here goes anyway!
My Grandma turned 90 on Tuesday, and she enjoyed her birthday very much. Most of the family was able to make it to celebrate with her which made it extra special. She really wants to learn how to play Scrabble
...so I bought her a Yahzee game..
Hey don't look at me like that!
I couldn't afford the Scrabble game. Anyway I knew she would love the Yahzee game, and she did. I told her all about it, but had in an absent minded, Tab kinda way, forgotten the game at home!

I got back home Thursday morning and induldged myself in a book. The Gun Seller. Writtten by Hugh Laurie. A serious story written with humour and wit.
Too many specifics about guns though, seriously I don't care what a glock whatever is or what it's made of.. but otherwise it's worth picking up this book.
Matthew was supposed to go to a birthday party today, but the little guy is still feeling under the weather. It's not H1N1, just a nasty cold, but people are pretty paranoid here so I kept him home.
Hope you all had a great week

cable, television, reading, entertainment
...
It's saturday today. Four of my five children are at their Aunt's place just East of me. The house is quiet except for the occational sound of Darkwing Duck exclaiming "Let's get dangerous!" coming from the old 17" inch computer monitor, that takes up way too much space on my tiny, hand built maple desk.
Matthew is completely captivated by the duck and his daughter Gosslin. I wonder to myself why TV lacks the creativity and humor families crowded around thier giant wooden box sets for a generation ago.
I guess the lack of originality on television is a fairly common compaint. You sign up for a forty dollar a month package and watch only one or two shows and then your provider removes those shows and designates them to another channel that you have to add to your package to continue enjoying your programming.
It does not surprise me in the least that people are chosing to cancel subscriptions and resort to downloading, illegally or otherwise.
Well back to my book, which still holds the creativity, imagination, humor, and adventure that I crave.
