Random Ramblings

of a mother of five!

Random prattling!

, , , ,

I spent the last couple of days in Ottawa spending time with my grandma, who is feeling much better since she has been put on steriods to manage her pain. She seems so healthy right now that it's hard to believe she has a fatal cancer.

Thanks to everyone who has offered support esp my Mugs who once again has shown me that he is an understanding shoulder to cry on.

I sent an MMS post earlier but it doesn't seem to have shown up yet. So I have resent it.

There will probably be half a dozen or so of my MMS repeating itself later..at least you guys know I tried.

I'm in a grouchy mood right now. Why does every flippin' Nigerian need me to be their friend? :heart:I'm just not that special! 40 friend requests this past weekend, and every one Nigerian. What's up with that?
I don't want to be a My Opera racist, but this is filling up my email box and it's really starting to tick me off.

That's it for today folks..I'm done complaining for now!
Have a great day!

Naughty childrenMy appologies

I'm so sorry about your Grandma, but am also thrilled to know that she's doing so well! I think it's wonderful that you're going over there to take care of her.

I have no idea what the deal is with these Nigerians. They're also the same ones who send email scams & whatnot. Well, obviously not ALL Nigerians, but you know what I mean.

I hope you enjoy your day to its fullest! :D

Thanks Karen!

I refuse to allow my Grandma to go to a pallitive care home until absolutely no other option is availble.
The cancer is in her brain now, and she is on oxygen to help cope with the dizzyness that causes. Eventually the cancer will take to much oxygen from her brain and she will fall asleep and not wake up. As horrible as it sounds, it's hugely relieving to her as she knows she will just go to sleep. She has been very worried about the suffering she thought she would have to go through. She watched her husband of 70 years die suffering and she was dreading the same fate.

Karen, time with my Grandma is precious and caring for her is natural, as she would do it for me.

My little five year old neice, Brooke, is in hospital in intensive care right now with blood on her brain and fluid around it. Our family desperately needs prayers Karen. We can't lose Brooke.

First of all, you have my prayers for Brooke. I'll most definitely be talking with God about your entire family.

As for your Grandma...I could never put my loved one in a home, either. It'd kill me inside. I have never been put in a situation like the one you're in, so I can't say that I know how you feel. I DO know, though, that you've got to be incredibly stressed out about everything.

The fact that she will simply go to sleep and not wake up must be very comforting. Not only to your Grandma, but to you & your family as well. God's lookin' out for her.

We realise that eventually her care needs may be beyond our abilities and if that should be the case I refuse to feel guilty about it, because myself, my cousin Cheryl, and my aunt Brenda are doing our very best to allow her to remain in her home.

It's difficult for me to understand my own feelings at this point, but I know I am relieved that she will die peacefully.

Brooke has had three surgeries on her brain over the last two weeks. Your prayers are greatly appreciated.
We thought she was out of the woods, but then she got the fluid around her brain..I'm still waiting to hear about the results of her cat scan. Karen she is such a brave little kidlet..

Karen 7. October 2009, 19:33

There's no reason to feel guilty if that happens, so I'm glad you refuse to!

Hopefully Brooke will be out of the woods! I am praying that the results come back the way everyone wants them to!

I know that God is looking out for her. Your prayers mean a lot to myself and my whole family.

I can't imagine what Laura (Brooke's mamma) is going through. This would kill me.

Karen 7. October 2009, 19:45

Oh, I know. That poor woman! :frown: I'd totally lose it.

You have my prayers, if that's what they're called.

Tab 8. October 2009, 01:36

That is indeed what they are called, and I thank you for them.

Brooke needs every prayer she can get.

Ana 8. October 2009, 19:37

Join with prayers for Brooke.
