Jake and Niki get confirmed

, , ,

Jake and Niki were confirmed yesterday. I unfortunately missed the ceremony, because I didn't want to go to church and cough and hack throughout.

Afterwards everybody went for lunch, at the local diner. The kids had a great day, unfortunately I was unable to to be a part of it.

Amanda took pctures for me. She left to go up North (Kapuskasing) with her father last night. They should be back on Thursday or Friday.

I'll be buying an Xbox 360 on Thursday, the kids are getting excited! I sooo want to play Overlord! I have played it a bit on Mugs' PC, but he gets frustrated because I am the most directionally challenged person ever.

I managed to get a lot of work done today. I was feeling productive. With the renovations going on in my place the dust is insane. I can't wait until all the work is done so I can post pictures for my most awesome friends here on Opera!

Thanks, The kids were very disapointed that I didn't go and I absolutely hated not being there for them, but we went shopping the night before together for new clothes for the occation. We had fun doing that.
At least they understood that I wasn't feeling well.

Angeliki 20. October 2009, 01:41

I am sure one day they will realize of how disappointed you were, for being sick on such a special day. In the long run they know you are with them even if they do not see you. Your heart is and will alway follow them , always and every where...
I hope your following days are good ones!
I am glad today it felt better and it was productive ...

Karen 20. October 2009, 01:55

I'm sorry to hear that you're still feeling icky. :hugs:

Tab 20. October 2009, 02:41

Thanks Karen and back at ya! I'm glad Lonnie is hauling you by the ear to the doctor..You need to go!

Don't worry about me, I always spend the cold months being sick. It's becoming a flippin' tradition!

My kids are very good about my health, and as a consequence very helpful and thoughtful. I'm such a lucky momma!
I miss Amanda like crazy right now, we've been texting each other all day!

Linda 20. October 2009, 05:53

Congratulations to Jake and Niki on their confirmation. I know it was a special day for them. Sorry you couldn't go, but I imagine they understand. I don't do well either in the cold months. Usually I have two bad ("exacerbations" is what doctors call these weeks of bronchitis when I cough hard and constantly and feel like general crap). a year, and is usually in an autumn month and/or in spring month. I will stay sick for a good 6 weeks. Complete bummer.

Ana 20. October 2009, 08:35

Tab 20. October 2009, 08:40

Thanks guys, I'll pass everbodys congratulations on to Jake and Niki! They will be so happy!

Sucks being sick!

solid copper 20. October 2009, 15:19

I understand confirmation is a big day for the person involved. So they are bound to be disappointed that you could not be there. But it also means you are very immortant and central to their life. Glad you got the photos. Sometimes cameras are forbidden at such ceremonies.

Tab 20. October 2009, 15:26

It was important to them Copper, they know that had I been feeling otherwise, I'd have never missed their day.

*ponders how to make it up to them*

I'm glad Amanda took pictures for me too!

Angeliki 20. October 2009, 17:03

Tab 24. October 2009, 17:03

Thanks
I bought a video of the confirmation, and will watch it with the kids, so I won't be missing out after all!

act2bmp 26. October 2009, 06:55

nice, its good to have faith, I still got to get my littlest one sorted next. I love having faith I just don't like any kind of church or its ministers but its the vows that I believe in and nice pic  Two of my girls are catholic and the other two are and will be christian with a pagan heathen farther

Tab 26. October 2009, 13:31

Thank you!

I don't believe in church or religion myself, but my kids attend a French Catholic school and consider themselves to be Catholic, so we do the Catholic sacrements.

I couldn't care less what religion my kids chose as long as they chose a Christian faith.

act2bmp 26. October 2009, 16:48

Over here its the catholic schools that seam to give the kids the best education (ok theres the religious bit) but my oldest two are excellent scholars so its worth it just for that, they are both looking a going to university next as for the god bits, well I'll let them make up there own minds there.

They asked what do I think so Ive told them I have faith and a spiritual belief but not in the church or its people!

They don't read this so I can say what I like upto a point.

Truthfully I believe all religion needs band for the trouble they cause and the moneys they make out of gullible peoples fear, just look at the Vatican for one. I think they need to use that moneys to put things right not tell people to pray to god and put your money in the pot mate god needs it. I could go on but I wont lets just say it really winds me up!

Tab 26. October 2009, 18:52

I agree...it really irks me that some religious groups build multi million dollar cathedral churches to worship in, when there are people in this Country who go without heat and children who have no food in their bellies.

It doesn't seem very Christ like to me. This is part of why I choose to avoid religions.

act2bmp 27. October 2009, 01:00

I cant say your wrong there  seeing through it. Wish we all could.

It all needs to change somehow I mean why should a place like the Vatican have all that and more. Some of the churches here are now play dens for kids so many of them are empty.

Like you say people go starving but what would you change next if you could change Religions errors ?

Celebrities and pop stars who make a lot out this like G8s or Band aids should be willing to give more back I think, do I really believe Bono out U2 needs £500.000000 in the bank or anyone for that matter, we have chosen money over people?

I don't want to switch to politics but people say Religion and Politics the two should never mix then I see President Obama with the Pope and it's a first for me, kind of just popped in there nothing important ?

Maybe he was asking him how to close the prison he said he would the first week he took office :irked:

Anyway what can we really do, well I'm not taking it with out saying anything  One huge Stop your GAMES from everyone

Tab 27. October 2009, 14:13

I agree.

Chosing one way only to help would require a great deal of thought, but essentially that is why the powers that be are leaders.

I remember as a teen working two jobs to feed my family, And this American priest from a interdenominational church knew I was doing this, and out of the blue he handed me a wad of cash, and said I was truly a child of God. I didn't need the praise but let me tell you it was the very first time in forever that I felt good about who I was. The priests name was Greg Speck...he also did missionary work, this is the way church leadership should work. I had no commitee come to my house and look at the bills, I never even asked for the money! If a church is not doing it's part to make changes in a community then that church is failing as a holy institution.

Changes need to be made globally, BUT starting with one's own community is definately a step in the right direction.

act2bmp 1. November 2009, 01:05

Sorry I've had a few pc problems.

Your right, I don't think all religious people are no good just its leaders! Greg sounds like a top man like they should be. I have spoken up and out here a few times but I find most don't give a fig or are to raped up in there own thing so I stopped.

I'm including the so-called help organizations we have to help.

Tab 1. November 2009, 01:19

Wow I just googled Greg Speck to see what ever became of him.

He is still working with teens and doing God's work...

www.gregspeck.com

This guy probably doesn't even remember me..but he sure made a difference in my life.

act2bmp 1. November 2009, 02:13

Sounds like he found his vocation in life good on him.

Tab 1. November 2009, 02:23

I won't ever forget what he did for me.

The world needs more people like him,

Ministers who find a way to contribute to the community and create possitive results.

act2bmp 1. November 2009, 02:49

Some time back I met one here he was already for me and I explained what had go one he just, well, he just fobbed me off like I've said the local MP Nick Brown runs Newcastle despite what anyone says.

I wont go on about him I'll just be thank full there are real people in the world only I'm stuck here now with little way out..

Tab 1. November 2009, 14:09

One person alone should not control an area..that's why mayors have councillors.

I don't know what you mean exactly by stuck with no way out...but it doesn't sound good for you. :frown:

act2bmp 2. November 2009, 01:05

You got that right MP Nick Brown has the say-so here in Newcastle and I know what a spineless bunch all our council leaders are, I helped campain to get them in or we would of had the BNP Nazi party but no sooner were they in they cast me out I done my job for Lib Dems leader Peter Arnold and team, funny hes now the Mayor of Newcastle.

Scum-bags aka Nick Brown have the heavy's on there side and the all leaders here fear him but I don't I have nothing to lose and as for being stuck well I still cant get a proper job in the last ten years.

Working for a penitence I'm lucky to have bus fairs so I don't have much opportunity to save a been these days!

Hard to believe, God I wish that to but it don't take away the fact this kind of slime runs the show on the worlds stage and he has here in his pocket BTW all business goes through this lot first and when they get told not to help you or else what do you think they do.

I wont go on how I know so lets just say his so-called friends spelt it out to me why I couldn't get a job or any of the help on offer.

Governments MPs have alot of money and power to do what the hell they like to the people beneath them I found that out the hard way.

Working for myself is what I do but a mechanic or a builder here they have to work very cheap to get a look in then you get more problems !

Beam me up Scottie :alien:  not to put you right but I say little way out theres always a way ? I just haven't found it here yet and I wont brake the law :raider: Or I may of killed by now

Tab 2. November 2009, 01:24

Mechanica here in Canada make a killing.

My son is taking mechanics, because the tradesmen here are the wealthy ones.

Sorry about the hard luck finding a job. I'm having the same problem because of my language. French Quebecers insist we in Ottawa all speak french to serve them in their language. Of course Ottawa being the Capital of Canada allows this because they happily kiss Quebec butt at every opportunity so my human rights are being violated and that's apparently ok. Governments sure do function in funny ways and recently bend over backwards to minorities who yell the loudest.

I totally hear ya about the money..with five kids to raise on next to nothing-it's hard.

act2bmp 2. November 2009, 01:49

well you have my sympathy not that it pays the bills like, but all "sorry" all in UK Government officials capacity are bent just like there American buddies :bomb:

Good for you boy to Im happy to hear mechanics get well paid there over here when I worked for Audi I got 5.50 per hour and the customer got charged 50 pounds per hour where's fair in that its more now but you can see what kind of scale it on.

I work hard so I want paid fair but like I said you got to play the game like the Officials do or be a criminal to make it here I think now. Everything else just pays the bills  The MP I mention is on a salary of 150.000 pounds a year plus and he still robs the people of 18.000 pounds on a food bill.

Have you not heard whats been going on over here ? all the MPs have been caught with there grubby hands in the till, so not happy having two houses (one tax free) and up to 10 directorships each and a huge salary they still fiddle there expenses, this to me wont do but what's happened you may ask, absolutely nothing because they all do it.

I'm for a public revolt because the Governments are all revolting :yuck:

I to wish I could get my duck pond cleaned out a the expense of the tax
payer thats one expense we could all use

Tab 2. November 2009, 03:15

Mechanics make up to 25 pounds an hour.

Your wage is minimum here..apprentices might get that...

Mechanics here are in very high demand.

Thanks I will fin a job eventually..but in the meantime I got a mortgage and five kids....
