A valiant attempt to explain the LHC (large haldron collider) at CERN, Geneva and what it hopes to achieve, in the form of a 'rap' but unless you have studied the background information it's likely that you will be lost after the first minute or so. Nevertheless, it's quite amusing.

The Uncertain City (An Animation by Ann Xiao)

Ann Xiao is an animation director living and working in London, originally from Beijing China. Since graduating from The University of Arts London, Ann Xiao has directed animated shorts, music videos and commercials for 4 years. She has developed a distinct, surrealist style combining technical illustrations with exciting colors and playful surroundings. She has been commissioned from the likes of MTV, Channel 4, Toyota, Tiger Beer, COI and the Discovery Channel. Ann used to be a professional comic artist that her work was published in magazines across China on a regular basis during her teens. Although initially training in architecture, Ann began pursuing a career in animation when she came to London. Ann has won the “Best Art Style Animation” at the Oriental Animation and Comic Competition in China and her work is often described as ‘architectural space meets the surrealistic dreams.’ Ann Xiao Website

"Slide" seems to be a popular slideshow application for many myspace users, so below is the result of my brief play with it. The photo archives of Gt Yarmouth I used were easily transferred from a set on my Flickr account but it was then quite a laborious task having to delete about 35 photos individually. I did like the fact that the background music is shown as a small overlayed video on the slideshow, however, this does seem to have it's drawbacks in that the combination of playing both the video and the slideshow takes up a lot of the computers' processing power. This makes it difficult to match up the length of the slideshow with the length of the background music video because the speed of your slideshow seems to be very much dependant on your computer's processor speed/amount of RAM. I think I'll leave this web application to the younger generation to whom this seems to be targeted.

"motel de moka" is my number one music blog. Having several contributors, the music genre can range from Hip-Hop to Classical but mostly "indie" rock, pop, folk and electronic, which helps me to reaffirm the music I don't paticularly like but more importantly, I can keep up to date and discover new music that I do like.
