If you set these as the same value... unexpected things happen. See http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=160372&t=1161387663&page=1

Tamil Thursday, December 24, 2009 10:33:19 AM

I did this but it didn't work

This is for changing tab width and not height.

Note the above works to change various bars in a skin but does not work for the tabs.

It worked for me.

same Anonymous as before :) writes: "It worked(http://my.opera.com/Tamil/blog/show.dml/4326145) for me." ??? It does not look like it worked for you, in your screen shots(follow the link you provided) it looks like you are haveing the same issue. The tab bars are the Exact same height in both screen shots. The only difference I can see is that one of the tab bars shows three dots '...' below it, indicating that thumbnails for tabs is turned on but the tabs bar is shrunk it's minimum height which has the same behavior as not having the thumbnails turned on. This led me to figure out you can make tab bars higher than the Opera default height if you first set the tab bars to show thumbnails BUT you Cant make tab bars height less than Opera default tab bar height with these settings. So how do we make tab bar height less than Operas default height for tab bars? the file operaprefs.ini has these settings that will allow you to set tab bar height higer than Opera default if you set thumbnails to true. Use Thumbnails Inside Tabs= Pagebar Height=

It does not look like it worked for you, in your screen shots

It is because I reduced one or two pixels only.

When i have about 50 tabs open in one row, the space between each tabs is about the half as wide as the width of each tab(becasue the tabs are getting very narrow when there are this many tabs open, allthough the space between the tabs remains the same size no matter how many tabs are open 2 to infinity). I would like to have zero or no space between the tabs. note that the active tab has no space between it and the tabs on the right and left of the active tab-thats what i want for all tabs not just the active tab.
