The essence of Bhagavad Gita

Geetha Saram by Sri Krishna in Tamil

Originally posted by Lord Sri Krishna:

Whatever happened, it happened well.
Whatever is happening, it is happening well.
Whatever will happen, it will also happen well.
What of yours did you lose?
Why or for what are you crying?
What did you bring with you, for you to lose it?
What did you create, for it to be wasted or destroyed?
Whatever you took, it was taken from here.
Whatever you gave, it was given from here.
Whatever is yours today, will belong to someone else tomorrow.
On another day, it will belong to yet another.
This change is the law of the universe.

Anonymous writes: Dear Tamil, Read your tamil versiono of Geetha Saaram. Unfortunately, it does not represent Baghavat Gita and some bloke had created a Tamil Blah Blah to sell some posters. Swami Chinmayananda used to criticize this version of Geethasaaram, as no where in Bhagavat Gita these things were told by Lord Krishna. Unfortunately, nowadays all are quoting this. Another example of Blind Leading the Blind. Geethasaaram as created by the poster sellers talks about INACTION and encourages that quality. But Bhagavat Gita talks about ACTION (KARMA). Kindly wake up and avoid polluting the real Gita. -Ashwinji

Anonymous writes: i have a small story on these lines. there was a king who once lost everything and very depressed.his faithful servant told the king that he has some secret advice written on palm leaves which were given by a saint as gift. he told the king that the saint asked him to use during any sorrowful moments. the servant had never opened them. the king then had to run for his life from his enemies. they were about to catch him when fell down and rolled into a pit and became unconscious.in the morning the kind was surprised that he had been saved by some tribes. he then took out the palm leaf and read: "idhuvum kadanthu pome" meaning: this moment would also pass. king after some time regained his kingdom and happily going for a ride in chariot when the same servant came running and gave one more palm leaf and said that the saint asked to read this when u are very happy. the king read it "iduvum kadanthu pome" means this moment would also pass.

The gist of Bhagavad Gita could never be understood literally! The moment mankind succeeded in assimilating pearls of wisdom contained in 700 shlokas verses of Bhagavad Gita... one finally reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya)... and finally salvation (moksha)!

The original teachings of Bhagavad Gita with English transliteration is available for mere $.60 (rupees 30/=) at most railway stations of India or directly from Gita press, Gorakhpur, India... still, people wondered what Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism was all about!
