Thank you very much Tamil!
I use the latest version:Full Screen

And if it is possible to add another column to the table: with Show panel toggle as a Web panel? (Button with function panels - key F4)
Maybe this should be done through Command Creator?

Tamil 26. January 2009, 03:22

Why do you want panel in full screen mode?

Not the entire panel, only a thin strip, which include / exclude panels. Some users use it (sometimes I) instead of key-F4
My idea was, full screen mode to be used for permanent work in Opera. For example, my work monitor is very small (14") and this mode is preferable.
When I want to use a function of the Desktop (and taskbar),I placed in Status bar, this button: Show Desktop

I already tried Show panel toggle command but it only works in normal mode.

I also tried, but this option does not work. This is not so important, will be used F4.

I came to this blogpost PURELY in the hope that I might find out if this could be done.. oh well. Something for the wishlist maybe.

Hey Tamil,

nice work, thx

you wrote "modifying right click full screen menu item action...", could you pleas show an example? - Didn't get in...thx

woelfchen

Tamil 29. January 2009, 19:07

You can see Full Screen menu item when you right click on a page. You can modify it with above mentioned codes to open full screen with toolbars.

woelfchen 29. January 2009, 19:52

that's clear, i already done some tweaks in my "my_menu.ini". But i didn't get one of the options in the upper table to work.

non of these options worked, i always got an "clean" fullscreen.

Maybe you've an example from an ...menu.ini?

woelfchen

Tamil 30. January 2009, 02:15

Under [Document Popup Menu], change
Item, MI_IDM_FULLSCREENTOGGLE = Enter fullscreen | Leave fullscreen
to
Item, MI_IDM_FULLSCREENTOGGLE = Leave fullscreen | Enter fullscreen & View page bar, 6

woelfchen 30. January 2009, 04:08

thx, now it works... ;-)

don't know that i had to change the order of the first action from "Enter fullscreen | Leave fullscreen" to "Leave fullscreen | Enter fullscreen".

Hello Tamil,
I noticed the following:
1. Open in normal mode tab -1,2,3,4 last active tab-5
2. Give regime Full Skreen = View page bar + View address bar + View status bar + Sroll bars
3. Tab-5 is OK, but tab-1,2,3,4 - they lack Addres bar and Scroll bar :frown:
4. Continue to open under the Full Skreen new tab - 6,7,8 ... they are OK

Is it possible to fix this problem with tab-1, 2,3,4?

Thank.
In general, when creating duplicates(of the tab 1,2,..) they are OK.

OakdaleFTL 15. February 2009, 13:26

About the panel bar... Is the icon-populated bar small enough? The regular page-bar panels toggle (crossed wrenches, in the standard skins) works.

The tiny triangle-toggle is (I think) part of the window's chrome, so it can't be got in full-screen mode.

Tamil 15. February 2009, 14:30

See updated note.

Tamil 28. February 2009, 20:09

I don't know.

Iskandaraja 28. February 2009, 20:45

hai tamil, can i ask you something?...
can we add some widget in operablog sidebar?...

Tamil 28. February 2009, 20:46

Currently, it is not possible.

Thanks for the fullscreen button that includes the scrollbar. I have looked for a while to find this. Now the only problem I have yet to find a solution for is that when in fullscreen mode, my Windows XP start menu becomes in accessable.

My start menu auto-hides and I would like to be able to bring it up when dragging the mouse down to it. Anyone have any idea how this can be accomplished while in fullscreen?

This problem also occurs in Explorer's fullscreen so it is not specifically an Opera issue, but an XP issue, I think.

Thanks for the help and the button.

EDIT: I stand corrected. When I open a link in a new tab, even if a scrollbar is warranted, it does not appear in that new tab when in fullscreen.

I don't know but WIN key will bring it with start menu.

Quankers 1. March 2009, 17:16

Yes, I am trying to accomplish bringing the start menu up the same way I would when not in fullscreen but thank you.

I am also noticing more tab related issues with the button:

opera:/button/Leave%20fullscreen,,,,%20Enter%20Fullscreen%20%3E%20Enter%20fullscreen%20&%20View%20page%20bar,%206%20&%20View%20address%20bar,%206%20&%20Delay,%2010%20&%20Enable%20scroll%20bars

Certain sites, such as wikipedia, do not load properly when in fullscreen. Switching out of full normalizes the site.

Some sites load without the address bar, scroll bar, or both even though the button is designed to load both. Just thought you may want to know.

Tamil 1. March 2009, 17:48

I will check it out.

bugscout 2. March 2009, 10:53

Great Job

I like it :coffee:

MarteIrae 3. March 2009, 08:16

I have modified the keyboard shortcut to see Tab bar, Address bar and Scroll bar using the code: "Leave fullscreen | Enter fullscreen & View page bar, 6 & View address bar, 6 & Delay, 10 & Enable scroll bars" but it doesn't function properly. When I press F11 the Scroll bar dissapears and when I press F11 again it reappears, but the window doesn't enter in fullscreen mode. What is wrong?

Tamil 3. March 2009, 10:41

I checked it (again) and works fine. Check whether you have entered action code correctly.

MarteIrae 4. March 2009, 07:27

It works now. Before, I'd changed the action code for the shortcut F11 in both sections "Browser Window" and "Document Window" in the Edit Keyboard Setup dialog. Now I've only modified the section "Browser Window" and it functions perfect. Thanx Tamil

Press F11 (you are using Opera right?)

OakdaleFTL 13. March 2009, 10:33

I still don't know how too start Opera in full-screen mode, but (see here) you can launch from the console or a .bat file with the switch /kioskmode.

But lots of things are disabled in Kiosk mode...

(It's a good idea to have -say- a keyboard shortcut or mouse gesture to, at least, give you the menu bar!)

Did you try Opera Launcher?

OakdaleFTL 13. March 2009, 10:53

Nah: don't want to start in full-screen mode, myself...

edit: the Unix switch fullscreen does the job! (That was simple... Just select the Properties for the shortcut and add the switch /fullscreen to the Target field.)

Full screen pic: Status bar from browser pop-up menu; buttons for panels, etc. on it.

I would like to see the tab bar and the adress bar only, but without entering full screen mode. This is because I still like to get notifications from other programs while surfing. So the bar where "file - edit - view - etc" stands and the one with the symbols to minimize & close Opera should be invisible. Is that possible?

Tamil 16. March 2009, 21:22

See How to toggle/remove menu bar in Opera? and currently it is not possible to remove title bar.

dapxin 28. March 2009, 15:37

Is it possible to have a combination that does a fullscreen for

Main Bar
Tab Bar
Scroll bar

+ or - the status bar too ?

Tamil 28. March 2009, 15:44

 See Auto-hide toolbars in Opera for action code.

dapxin 28. March 2009, 17:39

Thx.

Would it be possible to make Opera start in fullscreen mode, retaining all toolbar setup ?

confession: Its the only thing I fancy about Chrome.

Tamil 28. March 2009, 21:22

Change action for keyboard shortcut, F11 with the above action codes and use Opera Launcher.

Nice tip, but after I tried it I changed my mind and decided I want the default behavior back. I had used the method of modifying F11 behavior. I tried reverting back to the default keyboard setup, but F11 still shows the toolbars in fullscreen mode.

I want to restore the behavior that all toolbars disappear in fullscreen mode and reappear in normal windowed mode, how can I get this back?

I'm using eeebuntu 3 (which is ubuntu 9.04) w/LXDE (instead of default gnome) on an asus eeepc 1000.

I restored defaults in opera6.ini:

Keyboard Configuration=/usr/share/opera/ini/unix_keyboard.ini
Toolbar Configuration=/usr/share/opera/ini/standard_toolbar.ini

but still no good... what have I missed??

Tamil 6. June 2009, 21:40

Restart and check.

Anonymous 7. June 2009, 02:49

brianstamper writes:

I did restart, reboot, etc.

HOWEVER, I did make a discovery; this is unique to the LXDE window manager. On Gnome, F11 works as expected. But, as I prefer LXDE, this is still a problem.

I think the key would be to somehow hard-code the desired behavior in a manner similar to the custom examples above, but I do not know the proper syntax.

Hey Tamil, I've got one problem here:

When I start with Opera Launcher, I chose to start and automatically use F11, making Opera to go fullscreen. I got the settings for tab and navigation bar at fullscreen, but when I first start opera (with the launcher), it opens a tab that I were navigating, or a blank one (if I had no sessions to open), but without the navigation bar.

How to solve this problem?

Thanks!
