This is the first thing i do to a new Opera setup.

I also remove the "Bookmark" section and move the "manage bookmarks" >> down to the Add/View toolbar:

Thanks Tamil. I know something now, that I didn't know when I made this thread.

I placed the panel selector in the bottom of the sidebar, wrapped over several lines, with small icons.

Thanks.

Squeg writes: Opera 9 seems to have made changes to the panel controls. I can't find any method of disabling or moving the Panel selector seperately from the Panel Display. (I don't need those buttons because there's a perfectly serviceable drop down list that does the same thing in less space.) Has anyone else found away to display a panel without displaying the selector in Opera 9+?

Do you start Opera with saved session?

Briliant! Four year old post and still works in Opera 11.

Just goes to show that Opera never abandons UI elements wink

Thanks Tamil.

How to disable panel selector without disabling the current panel itself? In other words how to show a panel without showing panel selector? I am sure, sometime back, i had custom keyboard shortcuts for showing panels only, without showing panel selector, and if memory serves me right, i got those shortcuts from one of your blogposts.

my current shortcut for showing mail panel is as follow:

Focus panel, "mail" | Set alignment, "hotlist", 0
