How to delete typed-in addresses without affecting history in Opera?

To delete all typed-in addresses
You can use "Clear history of visited pages" option in "Delete private data" dialog but it will delete history. To delete typed-in addresses without affecting history, use anyone of the following.
- Drag & drop Clear Typed-in button to any toolbar.
- Create new keyboard shortcut in Application section with action Clear typed in history
- Add "Clear Typed-in" button to "Delete private data" dialog.

Typed-in addresses
To remove a (mis)typed-in address
- Click this & note path to Opera directory.
- Close Opera.
- Open typed_history.xml in any text editor from Opera directory. (opera.dir for versions below 9.60)
- Remove the line containing unwanted entry & save. (For versions below 9.60, don't delete first line as it contains number of typed-in addresses. There is no need to edit first line because Opera will update it automatically.)

To remove digg.com entry, delete digg.com line in opera.dir file using any text editor

I'm new to Opera, just start to using Opera and really like it. There are two issues I'm trying to customize / resolve with Opera. You are an expert on Opera, hence, you might have answer to the following questions. Thank you for your help.
1. How to automatically clear typed url in the address bar? The only way I can do it right now is to manually do a "clear private data". Is there an automatical way? I tried to set ZERO to "number of website rememberred" in Tools > Preferences > Advanced > History but NOT work.
2. When click on a bookmark, it open in the current tab. Is there a way to customize it so that I can middle click on the bookmark to have it open in a new tab? The default setting of Opera does not do this while Firefox does it and I find it's quite handy. Thanks.

Just wondering if you had a chance to go over the comment/message I posted a few days ago. Thanks.

yesterday actually I upgraded 9.52 to 9.60 but i hadn't used 9.52 yet anyway 9.60 just happend to come out one day after I installed the 9.52 version. So the dialog file is as goood as new and didn't do anything with it. Are you saying that your plugin only works if I reinstall opera afer copying the modified dialog into the profile folder?

Enter path to default dialog file in Dialog Configuration and check whether you can see preferences dialog.
If it works then enter path to modified dialog file and check whether you can see preferences dialog.

Get rip of the typed-in address for good.
Open typed_history.xml in any text editor from Opera directory. (Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile) Delete everything inside, then set the file properties to "Read-only". Opera will no long able to save your typed-in address.
