Very interesting this sort mode. Thanks for the tip, Tamil!

But I can't select "Sort by created", it was the most needed for me.:frown:

[EDIT]The "Sort by My Order" option ports my wish! It sorts notes by creating date!

A feature I would have love to see is a way to keep notes online somewhere, and then it's kinda synchronized between opera installations.

I guess it would not be that difficult to do technically as there already exist the bookmarks/speed dial synchronization.

rolling_thunder 11. April 2008, 15:21

I agree. Or, the possibility to save (export) notes as a file would be nice...

MrPingouin 11. April 2008, 16:48

Hey hey hey !
Just look at the last development snapshot !

Notes synchronization is now available !

Beware there is a bug in build 9903 which removes new lines in notes. :frown:

Well, fortunately I'm not using notes for the moment but I think I will !

Actually as I didn't have this feature, I set some monthes ago a css for a wikini to have an entire wiki webpanel !

Many thanks pal, - I was missing the "Sort by my order" option.

Eatcarpet 16. August 2008, 11:23

The notes used to sort out automatically... so freaking annoying.

The view icon is no longer available, I'm using Opera 9.52.

Yes I tried the typical things as resetting the panel, etc.

ottouk 28. October 2008, 02:46

How do you do this in 9.61?

Tamil 28. October 2008, 09:47

The above will work for Opera 9.61.

I just upgraded to 9.62 and the I have no ability to drag and drop that view icon anywhere. I'm also driven to distraction by the automatic note sorting. Is there anyway to turn it OFF?

Tamil 5. November 2008, 21:41

Did you follow instructions?

Yes, the ones at the top of this page. When I selected the VIEW icon and tried to move it I got a little circle with a diagonal line through it - the symbol that means "you can't drop this icon where you are currently holding it".

I'm using Win98, btw.

Is there an INI file or something I can just edit?

Also, the tip itself is clever and useful - but how is it possible for a regular user of Opera to figure something like that out? I don't think that's in any help file, is it?

Tamil 6. November 2008, 14:24

Drag & drop View button to notes panel.

Ahhh. I needed to drop in the TOP panel - above the notes. Thanks, it works now.

BPM has a great little button to do a sort in one click here: http://my.opera.com/bpm/blog/buttons

It's still a nasty bug. It would be OK if it kept its sorting, like bookmarks, instead of changing back to alphabetical on every restart.

Thanks! Mine just did this at random the other day.:wizard:

It is still available, after the customize and bookmark manager windows are opened, drag and drop the "view" button from bookmark manager to the notes toolbar and there you have it!

Tamil 29. October 2009, 12:03

  1. Empty notes trash and close Opera.
  2. Backup both notes file.
  3. Open them in text editor.
  4. Copy contents of one notes file (except first two lines and trash folder) to another notes file.

How to use Quote function:

  1. Select some text
  2. Click on the Quote link
