When you type in your email address in forms there is a chance for typo error and if that email address exists, your personal information may land on another person's email account. Due to email address typo error, I received more than 400 emails in the past 3 years and it includes
- 12 Gmail accounts
- 7 Facebook accounts
- 3 AdultFriendFinder accounts
- 2 Twitter accounts
- 2 Matrimonial accounts
- ING Vysya Bank

Typo errors in email addresses can be exploited by hackers to gather sensitive information with little effort by creating multiple email accounts. To avoid this, in Opera fill and when type in your first letter of email, Opera will show email address and select it to enter. Alternatively, press down arrow in form field and then select email address.

Also, if you need to send an email to a person first time, verify that email address by sending a test email before sending any email with sensitive information. Due to typo error by sender I received emails with
- Salary slip
- Bank statement
- Resume
- Personal photos
