How to customize Opera icon & title?

Application Icon

Enter path to icon file with extension in Application Icon & restart Opera.

Opera with bug icon
Bug icon for beta testing

NB: It is not possible to change Opera's default system tray icon.

Title

Enter required items in Title.
%t for page title,
%s for build number, &
%v for version number

Opera Title: Opera %v Build %s
Opera %v Build %s will show the above

Opera Title: %t
%t will show the above

If you don't want page title to be shown in title bar add Opera %v %t. (Thanks excession)

Remove menu bar
Toggle menu bar using keyboard shortcut
Toggle menu bar using button
Main menu as submenu in right click menu
Main menu via keyboard shortcut

Remove menu bar

Uncheck Show Menu and restart Opera.

Toggle menu bar using keyboard shortcut (ALT+F11)

If you don't know how to edit keyboard setup see How to add/edit keyboard shortcuts in Opera?

In Application delete Platform Unix before F11 alt.

Toggle menu bar using button

Drag & drop Menu button to any toolbar.

Click the text Menu to toggle menu bar & arrow to show menu items

Create a new shortcut with action Show popup menu,"Browser Menu Bar"

You can also create ALT+F to open File menu directly and so on.

How to disable check for new version of Opera?

By default, Opera checks for new updates every week and notifies you when there is an update.
New Opera version available notification message

If you want to disble it set Check For New Opera to 0.

For Opera version 8

Note the path of Opera directory by clicking this. Close Opera, go to Opera directory and open opera6.ini and change value of Check For New Opera to 0 under [User Prefs].
