Ohh,great:)Thanks Tamil.

Great, thanks.

How about including the "Buttons with * will reset your previous selection(s)." legend somewhere on the dialog?

Is there any way to make the "Detailed Options" dropdown action, sticky? i.e so that it always displays all the options, by default?

Anonymous 3. July 2008, 01:31

Oops, just noticed "Remove Detailed Options button." :-O

rseiler 3. July 2008, 04:59

Now we just need a tweak to make such things as Manage Cookies, Manage Wand Passwords, Manage Site Preferences, and some other things, not take a loooooooong time to open (and often close) when you have a lot of cookies, passwords, etc.

ltGuillaume 5. July 2008, 01:40

I noticed that from v9.50, from this dialog you cannot not remove temporarily downloaded files anymore. I suppose this dialog mod doesn't change that behavior, does it?

hi all,
wonderful dialog...but in O9.51 the "clear typed-in" button does not do anything.
any ideas on what needs to be done to make it work??
(so annoying that whole issue of clearing address entries, history etc.)
thanks,
chrisk

Tamil 21. July 2008, 05:38

Can you see any typed-in addresses when you click down arrow in address field?

Anonymous 21. July 2008, 09:30

hi tamil,
and thanks for your reply.
yes, obviously i have these entries, and lots of them, which is why i'm trying to figure a way to get rid of them (without losing all of history, nor with fiddling with the adr file etc). your dialog, if i understand right, should allow that...but here it doesn't work.

Tamil 21. July 2008, 09:37

Drag & drop Clear typed-in button to any toolbar and try.

ckvs 22. July 2008, 06:33

thanks tamil,
yes, that button works.
and indeed...my apologies!!!...after reading this
http://my.opera.com/bpm/blog/the-address-field-dropdown-control-panel-we-dont-have?cid=5706179
i realized that the button on your dialog panel _did_ work! as bpm argues in his analysis, the distinctions between what is actually on, or not on, the drop-down in the address bar, are so fuzzy and confusing!

so, altogether:
your dialog is, in the present state of O development, indeed the most useful solution in a situation of unnecessarily frustrating "improvement" of the browser.

thanks,
chrisk

Thank you very Tamil!I am always and study here new things for the favorite Opera!
With greeting from Bulgaria!

EricJH 27. August 2008, 12:53

Thank you for this dialogue. :wizard:

I noticed that with the 9.60 branch it made only four of six synchable objects visible. I posted about it in the beta forums and kslee came up with a solution that fixed the problem: http://my.opera.com/community/forums/findpost.pl?id=2713319 .

May be you can change your file accordingly?

Tamil 27. August 2008, 14:09

If I update now, 9.5x users will see check boxes without names and it will cause confusion.

EricJH 27. August 2008, 15:57

That makes sense. Or offer two versions. One for 9.5x and for the 9.6x branch. I am using the modified version on 9.6.

Tamil 28. August 2008, 17:58

Dialog file will be modified between snapshots and it is difficult to maintain in long term. You can DIY easily using WinMerge.

Hello

This window dont open in Opera v.9.52 http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Blogs/O%20Delete%20Private%20Data.png

This button Clear typed-in is integrated in Opera menu (toolbar) but dont open this window http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Blogs/O%20Delete%20Private%20Data.png

dialog-modified.ini is in C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\dialog-modified.ini

Dialog Configuration - is Ok path.

I little understand English language.

Tamil 7. September 2008, 14:01

Did you restart Opera?

RX8 7. September 2008, 14:33

Yes.

Change path with C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\toolbar\dialog-modified.ini

I restart the Opera but she don`t work.

Tamil 7. September 2008, 14:45

Did you enter new path in Dialog Configuration?

RX8 7. September 2008, 14:54

Tamil 7. September 2008, 14:59

What happens when you click Tools Delete private data... ?

RX8 7. September 2008, 15:15

Tamil 7. September 2008, 15:21

What is there in Dialog Configuration box?

Tamil 7. September 2008, 15:40

It should be path to downloaded dialog-modified.ini file in your hard drive. (C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\dialog-modified.ini) Change it and restart Opera.

RX8 7. September 2008, 15:55

It finally works, thank you.

It looks that way in cyrillic alphabet:

http://img235.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hhhhhhhhdl4.jpg

To communicate with You ( Tamil ) I got help from my best friend and a girl ( MiMi ), friend of mine.

Thank you, Tamil.

Tamil 7. September 2008, 16:07

To avoid overlapping text, open dialog-modified.ini file & replace DI_IDM_CLEAR_NPCOOKIES (delete temporary cookies) with short name in your language. Similary, replace for all overlapping text.

RX8 7. September 2008, 17:03

Encoding is not right, with smenyah it possible for Cyrillic, but appear yeroglif.

http://img231.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pfka1.jpg

Tamil 7. September 2008, 17:31

Then you have to edit language file.

RX8 7. September 2008, 18:00

C:\Program Files\Opera\locale\bg\bg.lng ?

What's changed ?

Tamil 7. September 2008, 18:13

C:\Program Files\Opera\locale\bg\bg.lng ?

 Make a backup before editing.

Search for items shown in delete private data dialog box next to checkbox and replace with short name.

RX8 7. September 2008, 18:35

Window expands, but from your file, replaced (translated) in Cyrillic, become yeroglif.

Tamil 8. September 2008, 06:33

Download & replace existing dialog-modified.ini

Tamil 8. September 2008, 13:04

Use english language instead of yours for that one.

RX8 8. September 2008, 13:35

So u suggest i use the english language for that menu because u have no idea how to change it in Cyrillic, right ?

Tamil 8. September 2008, 14:19

I know but default string will make button long & some strings are not available in language file.

darumaki 5. March 2009, 17:24

How about a button for easy access, instead of going to the tool menu

Tamil 5. March 2009, 20:43

ptlycldy 8. March 2009, 20:06

The "Clear Typed-In" button works fine. Thanks. But...

Is there a way to edit/delete specific typed in addresses like you can in the history (Cntrl-Shft-H)?

That would allow you to keep most addresses, but drop private ones.

teodule 19. March 2009, 19:56

Hello all of you....
I have a serious concern about privacy using Opera. The first point is that the cache is not completely emptied: links with sitecheck links remain and tell a lot about the sites you have visited (of course you shouldn't visit those sites !!!)
The second point: when I place the mouse cursor on an input box/field (e.g the search field of Google, and then depress the Down arrow then an input combobox appears which I cannot get rid of. As an example whenever I mistakenly press down arrow in the google input box I get: http://peachyforum.com/forums/t/193242.aspx. I have found no way to get rid of it. Annoying....Any suggestion ? Thanks
