Opera Launcher
Sunday, 23. November 2008, 16:47:44
Opera Launcher was created using AutoHotkey. It can
- create daily backup of bookmarks, notes & sessions with date stamp. Bookmarks & notes backups will be created in profile\backups directory.
- disable crash startup dialog.
- delete quick find search histories.
- empty Temporary Download Directory (not Cache Directory).
- send keystrokes after starting Opera.
- remove Opera title bar.
- restart Opera.
- change Speed Dial background image automatically.
Download (size < 210 KB), unzip, place OperaLauncher.exe inside Opera installation directory, C:\Program Files\Opera and run it to launch Opera. The following settings dialog will be shown when you run it first time.

Opera Launcher settings dialog

Nice tool. How would someone restore a backed up version?

Nice app. Can you add 2 more options:
- Open with Startup Dialog (when its set to Continue from previous session in Prefs, and there was no crash or problem);
- Open another Opera window instead of a new Tab.
Is there any meaningful Command Line Switch Wiki (possibly reverse engineered, as official Ref contains almost no Win switches, which is absurd).

Click OperaLauncher New Window shortcut to open new window.
Nope.

Thanks Tamil!

Why 'backup' when 'synchronise' automatically backs all the settings up online every time you use Opera?
If you surfed child molesters, why can't you click the 'Tools' menu and select 'Delete Private Data'?
It is easier, and more fruitful, to simply upgrade to a better OS.
Try a linux distro out, stop booting to crap mode, stop being paranoid!
Try Ubuntu and get Opera/10.00 (X11; Linux i686 ; U; en) Presto/2.2.0

hmmm... Since opera is installed by administrator on my win-xp machine I can't access the "c:\program files" dir. I tried to add
Opera File Name=C:\Program Files\Opera\opera.exe
into the ini file, but it will keep looking from the current dir..
so I can't use it in this way. Do you have a suggestion so I can use it ?

This tool is awesome... I just found a problem. If you run it from command line, you can't pass an url as param so the browser can open it by default. Is there a way to do so? e.g. >OperaLauncher www.google.com could open the page. That's the normal behavior of the 'original' opera.exe executable.
Thanks!

Opera Launcher doesn't remove my temporary downloads in the folder C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\fp\Lokale Einstellungen\Anwendungsdaten\Opera\Opera\profile\cache4\temporary_download
Instead it tries to open the folger C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\fp\Local Settings\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\cache4\temporary_download\
Seems to be a problem, because I use a german Windows XP.
Any hints?
Regards,
Florian

Thanks for the fast response.
The fix doesn't seem to work on my system. FileMon reports that OperaLauncher tries to access H:\fp\\%USERPROFILE%\Lokale Einstellungen\Anwendungsdaten\Opera\Opera\profile\cache4\temporary_download\
whereas the correct path should be C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\fp\Lokale Einstellungen\Anwendungsdaten\Opera\Opera\profile\cache4\temporary_download
My USERPROFILE variable points to C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\fp
Thanks for your help. Great tool!

Greetings annd Salutations You Guys.
Dear Tamil, I found that the app did not update often enough.
02- the app opens the one before the previous session.
is it possible to set it to save session every 15 minutes
and
the option to delete old saved session every 20 minutes?
03- now that I'm running the app I found that option to continue from last time
is not lit up.
04- I've reinstalled opera9.6 and cleared window/prefetch opera .pf files and
still the option didn't lit up.
is there any way to settle this?
since it is that much to delete that much old opened tab once start.
TQVM for this innocvation.

Why do you want it? Opera saves it automatically.
Check whether disable crash startup dialog is enabled.

Hi, but this has made my MX revolution keystroke assignments no longer work in the browser. I can still do the shortcuts with the keyboard, but my mouse shortcuts through the logitech software no longer work. They still work outside of Opera though.
