i've posted some wishes at the opera newsserver (news://news.opera.com/opera.wishlist), but i think somewhere where posts can be redirected|organized by an admin|mod would be better. i've noticed that both op and mozilla wish groups will contain threads where original poster just didn't know their wish already had a solution (admittedly sometimes the existing solution is weak, and therefore the topic semi-qualifies as a "wish")

I was wondering... is there any way to disable this dialog box when I click on a feed:

"Would you like to subscribe to (name of website)?

The feed will be added to the Feeds menu and automatically checked for updates."

I want to be able to load a feed without automatically subscribing to it.

I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me if there was a way to disable the alert. If not, I'd really like to put this on the wishlist.

Thanks! :coffee:

Nope.

Just upgraded to 9.5 Which I like for the most part. Even getting used to the new skin.

However, the one thing I really miss is some sort of progress indicator for receiving / sending mail. I'm on a slow connection and if an email has any sort of attachment I'm left guessing as to how long it will take to download.

9.2x was bad enough, at least I could go into Tools > Mail and Chat Accounts and see the progress there, but 9.5 has removed that now.

If I could get this one little thing then Opera would be perfect.

theShuggie 19. June 2008, 17:24

I have organised my Opera with additional buttons and additions to the right click menu which allows me to do daily business entirely in Opera.
(The only browser that can be customised to allow this!)
One gripe - I would like to be able to highlight a note and print it!

eagle4eyes 25. June 2008, 05:11

I wish I could upload my photo from my phone like I can for my photo album. I use the opera mini 4.!

bpm 1. July 2008, 05:49

Good wishes mostly. #8, though, was granted years ago: bookmark descriptions do show up in tooltips.

eagle4eyes 1. July 2008, 09:46

Thank you for the tip. I am still learning how to find my way around Opera. I`m like a kid on a treasure hunt! silly me.

Schalandra 11. August 2008, 14:26

I'd like to see, that the configuration of my sidebar webpages (view > small screen) gets saved. I use several pages in my sidebar (dictionaries, SID search, key generators, ...) that I prefer to use in small screen mode, but every time I restart Opera they're back in normal mode.

It would be nice to have some additional options for auto dropdown.

9.5 now includes your bookmarks when you search direct from the address bar, and I cannot find anyway to turn this off.

This means that any private bookmarks can embarrasingly appear during innocent searches. Not much fun with your boss, or a client looking over your shoulder.

Tamil 27. August 2008, 15:05

I cannot find anyway to turn this off.

Ah yes, but that turns the whole address bar autocompletion off. I simply want to prevent the autodropdown from scanning my bookmarks and including them in search results.

bpm 28. August 2008, 18:26

A sensible and common wish, Kazan, but not granted - best you can do is maintain a private bookmarks file (fortunately swapping files is easy). See here for more.

Tamil, how do you feel about my wish to have centralized panning (scrolling), which was abandoned in 9.5, added as an additional option?

Folders for RSS Feeds.

+1

totalimpact 3. January 2009, 18:04

I think it would be nice to show hovered links in the address bar instead of in the status bar at the bottom - then I would have no need to show the status bar - i use a small screen laptop. -i know theres tool tips, but they take a second to display.

Schalandra 15. January 2009, 00:06

ICC color management for Opera10? That would be a real killer feature for any photographer.

Firefox3 already supports it and I think it would be nice to add this option in opera:config.

Opera was one of the first multi tab browsers.

Why don't you add a button for "stop all tabs from loading" by default in opera?

even older custom buttons don't work in nee versions ..... !!!!!!

+ A faster dragonfly more firebug-ish:wizard: .
+ Add-ons support.

Issaland 1. April 2009, 12:43

- support for WOT (Web Of Trust)
- build-in protection against: clickjacking, XSS attacks and also ClearClick protection (like in Firefox's add-on NoScript)
- easy and simple way to block unwanted scripts
- spell checking for multiple languages
- possibility to have choice to open bookmark from Bookmarks menu in Tab or New Window

Domain highlighting in Opera (can be toggled on and off)

Schalandra 18. May 2009, 19:21

CAcert support...

Remove #40.

fahdbaig 16. June 2009, 23:58

Maybe another good feature would be to adjust the current RSS reader. Right now when you subscribe to a feed and select a particular entry to read, the reading pan shows an extract line and link to the actual article!

This approach is pretty cumbersome, if the reader pane just opens the link and shows the article there and then (like with Thunderbird for instance) it will be mega convenient...

ggurov 3. July 2009, 11:34

I wish a shortcut for the new thumbnails in tabs in Opera 10. Just like F4 for the hotlist window.
