One way I do this is to do ctrl+tab to open a new blank tab, then drag'n drop a folder from desktop into the window. The window will now show the path.

Try typing in the address bar something like:

file://localhost/home/ben/.opera/

This is a linux system, but the starting point for you will be 'file://C:/' I think.

There is history search keyword h in opera. I find it gives radically different results than opera:historysearch. Is it so that opera:historysearch is only for saved pages content? Is there documentation about these searches?
