Reduce integration drag area in non-maximized Opera window

, , , ,

Opera in non-maximized state will show 13 pixel interaction drag area above the tab bar and it can be changed as shown below.

  1. Change Chrome Integration Drag Area value to 1.
  2. Save.
  3. Maximize and restore down to see the change.

Opera Chrome Integration Drag Area Default
Chrome Integration Drag Area = 13 (Default)

Opera Chrome Integration Drag Area Modified
Chrome Integration Drag Area = 1

1 pixel above the tabs in maximized Opera window can be removed by changing Chrome Integration Drag Area Maximized value to 0.

See Useful opera:config (Opera Preferences Editor) entries for more opera:config tips.

That's a neat trick to make the thickness of the bar consistent. GREAT!

How about removing 1 pixel above the "Close" button in maximized Opera window?

Tamil Monday, March 15, 2010 12:27:37 AM

I have to check it.

Another useful trick is edit skin.ini and change "Margin Top" in "[Pagebar Button Skin]" to 0 .. thanks to this, it's possible to move cursor completely to top of the screen and still select tabs or switch tabs.

I dunno, I kind of need those pixels to move unmaximized window around, don't you?

Cool!!! Put the trashcan in the navigation bar and it looks best smile

Chrome Integration Drag Area Maximized is no longer working in the latest Opera 10.54 build with speed-dial changes. Any way to make it work?

Tamil Saturday, May 8, 2010 2:21:46 PM

Works in Opera 10.54

OperaUser77 writes: I like the new Opera interface with no menu bar. But I miss the function which allowed to create a new Opera window by dragging a tab at the upper side of the screen. Is there a trick in Opera 10.5x to replicate this useful function?

Nope.

Does anyone know how to modify ANY skin in Opera (except the native one) to have 1 pixel above close button in upper-right corner of the maximized Opera window? This is very frustrating to aim close button every time when I want to close window.

Nope.

don't know about latest versions but this tweak seems not to work in 11.01 - there is still a pixel, which prevents interactions with tabs sad
