I found that and set it so show full a day or so after 11 came out

Good info.

Now get rid of the panel that keeps getting in view when I open a feed. Damn all these new unwanted features.

v-love Monday, December 20, 2010 8:13:41 PM

I've been wondering what kind of idiot decided to add that feature... as much as I like Opera, 2010 has not been a good year for the browser. they keep adding new features, tweaking speed and such but are still carying old UI bugs from 9.x

I second that - or at least make them editable such as the stupid domain highlightning in the url.

ersi Monday, December 20, 2010 8:45:44 PM

I installed over the old version and my address field is as it was in the previous version... I see I missed tons of headache smile

Cool, I didn't knew they've added options in the UI! up

1 - with the extra memory used by the new opera it keeps crashing (hee, I only got 1 GB of RAM), so sessions don't last very long these days. 2 - I get the sidebar EVERY time I open a feed (even if I open the same feed repeatedly in a session I still get the sidebar every time)

Disable automatic display of mail panel, then. It's in the opera:config. Or is the setting broken? Because it should prevent the panel from being shown when you perform an M2 task.

No. This completely an "ignorance is bliss" feature.

Hide URL parameter not safe.
- You don't see the topic ID
- You don't see the anchors.
- You don't see the querys.
- You even don't see this: http://trustedsite.com/?http://verybadmalwaresite.com

This option should be disabled by default. I know how to disable it, but maybe this is dangerous for the inexperienced users.

This was the first thing what I disabled after installing the beta.
And the "Show Full URL" was the second thing what I enabled after I installed the b1133

The hiding protocol not too dangerous, but very annoying. You don't see the FTP (if it's not directory structure), you don't see any difference between mixed content (HTTPS) and HTTP.

This has nothing to so with security.

I fixed your example. The real website will be highlighted, the badge will show if the website you are in is trustful.

I don't know about you, but as far as I know, people don't really seem to notice query strings OR paths.

Actually, they notice that the address field is all noise. Removing the noise makes it easier for them to figure out what's actually important (such as the domain and security info).

Real example: http://anonym.to/?http://google.com

Anonym.to is highlighted.

But you're a power user. smile

(And the F2 shows the protocol and the parameter)

yes I use F2 to enter address.

Obviously, it's the website you are accessing... It's impossible it was http://google.com/?http://anonym.to because that way anonym.to would be inside of Google domain (impossible)!

The only harmful example of your claim is...Google Translate? And if Google doesn't report that the embedded, translated site is dangerous, that's a Google bug. Go file it with them.

Not possible.

Cutting Spoonhellspork Monday, January 17, 2011 7:52:41 PM

It all depends on your monitor. On mine the contrast is minimal, the grey is almost as dark as the black. But on a few screens, I have seen the grey become a little too light.
