Please anyone, tell me there is a at least a fix to make the whole address be displayed in black.

LOL!
Opera 9.64 had much bigger buttons...

It's for easier finding the word being searched, after you find it and want to read the text that's in the dark overlay press Esc and it'll close the search.

There's no way to do this at this time.

When searching text the whole page is colored with a dark overlay.

Set Dim Search Opacity to 0.

Probably domain highlighting.

Big thanks Tamil for keeping the Opera experience bearable for the past two years!

Opera is making every possible effort to get rid of its core user base. The base on which its success stands on.

First they break the very "Opera" theme in 9.5, then they break keyboard navigation(reversible), then they break Search, then they even the address bar? What's next, for Christ's sake?
Oh, I know, they have already managed to eliminate user feedback by banning people with guts.

Surprise surprise: The emperor has no cloth, regardless what his PR might spin.

All this mess looks to me like a systematic hunt to eliminate every hard-to-copy strong point the software might have left.
Is Opera SA run by a (ex)Microsoft guy like Nokia is? O am I missing something else?

Cutting Spoonhellspork Sunday, March 13, 2011 8:50:49 PM

Actually, you're missing damn near everything. Just sayin'

Hi, I'm looking for the shortcut key combo for opening up the Links Panel. The quickest way I can get there is by pressing Ctrl+B (takes me to the Bookmarks Panel) and then clicking the sideways S.

Is there a shortcut that takes you directly to the Links Panel?

I always look there to see what I'm getting, but I don't know what I'm really getting, because it's hidden. If you really want to do this by default, how about showing it in a really light font. AAARGH!

Check your color settings. I've had no trouble after adjusting my screen.

Palantír writes: In relation to this topic: How can I see the full URL in the address bar at the bottom of Opera browser? When browsing the web there is links to click, holding the mouse upon a link will make the URL address appear at the bottom of Opera ( next to panel – opera link – opera unite – opera turbo, and to the left of the zoom function). When the URL of the links gets too long to be displayed, how can I get it to break on multiple lines or some other way make the whole URL address to appear? There are many sites that have too long links that sends me off to a different site without me knowing it since the *http:\\ bla bla bla -> http:\\ bla bla bla* is hidden so long out in the link I just cant see it. Is there some information or links to this subject that I can read and try?

Try popup statusbar extension.

Of course, I put it back to "Show full web address"). All looks great -- until, once the page is loaded, it takes away the full URL and just lists the domain again. It will always show the URL now while the page is loading or when I click the address bar, but it refuses to just leave it. (I did verify in opera:config that "Show Full URL" was checkmarked) Is this a version issue or did I do something wrong? I've been all over the menus and opera:config page trying things out (and having to undo them sometimes;-) but this is the one thing I have not been able to fix

Tamil Thursday, December 8, 2011 3:16:42 PM

Is this a version issue

Nope.

Penge, you're right, it's definitely one of the dumbest 'features' in recent history.

Firefox has done it, also & I imagine other browsers too. :/

The newest one still does this, but with #labels in HTML pages... which, for some sites like Deviantart and twitter get used as necessary pieces of the url. Is there any way to disable that, too?

Folks,

One more voice to this thread.

Please fix this irritating behavior in Opera. Internet is based on URLs, they are an essential part for the user to orient in a website and on a page. Please just show them as they should.

Hi Tamil, you're the champion of Opera smile, I think you can help me with this problem I have a small screen on my netbook, so configure the look of the browser in this way (link image below). Tell me you'd know how to do to extend the web address box to view large. The problem is that having everything in the tab bar this is very small and I can not see the full web address.

Peter writes: The developers must be retarded. Hiding the url parameters is nothing short of retarded. That is not good in any situation AT ALL, for nobody AT ALL. Also the fact that when you have browser maximized, and want to click on a tab, you cant just move the mouse all the way to the top. There is a little part at top that is not part of the tab.
