When I try the second one, to open link in IE, it opens IE, but as address it pastes anything, I copied before (with Ctrl+C), not address of the link. Is there some way to solve this?
And is there a way to make this work on bookmarks? Thx. Vraana

Also, is there a way to bind the window list to a shortcut key? I can't find the function name in the shortcuts menus. The window list manifests itself as a clickable arrow on the right side of the tab bar when u select 'show extender menu' under the customize toolbar option. Thanks in advance!

I'm looking for extensions to make IE, Opera, and Firefox behave more like each other. I want cntrl t, cntrl w, cntrl n and whatever the other top shortcuts to be the same, for me, on all 3. I can conform a little, but I'll assume it's microsoft that isn't playing nice.

Hi, This is really neat but I can't get it to work on the Mac. Any idea how I should change the following lines to launch Safari or Firefox?
Item, Open in Firefox=Execute program, "firefox","%l"
Item, Open in Internet Explorer=Execute program, "iexplore","%l"
Thanks!

I downloaded the Windows version of Safari today and updated my toolbar, and all that happens is Safari opens up with my default page (blank for me). No loading the page at all. IE and Firefox both work as expected.

why would like to do something like that whats the point of opening other browser windows in another browser ? Using up ur spare RAM by having 3 browsers open?

This doesn't work for me. I also tired replacing firefox with "open -a firefox" which works from a terminal but that didn't work either. Any ideas??? I'd love to be able to get this to work. And if we can do this with FF we can get an open with Safari button too
Has anyone else been able to get these to work on OSX? I've been searching all over the place but haven't found anything. Unless I'm not entering the full path correctly.... (should be /Applications/Firefox ?? Mine is actually in /Applications/Browsers/Firefox)

Is there a way to do this for the bookmark items? i.e. right click a bookmark item and say "open in FF"?

The bookmark link solution didn't work for me. I don't think %c is the right command?
When I tried opening a bookmark item with firefox (Open in Firefox), it just opened one tab in firefox for every space delimited token of the 2 lines I just added to the ini file.
i.e. firefox tried to load web pages with urls:
"item,"
"open"
"in"
"firefox"
...and so on...
with IE, I get redirected to a Yahoo search page with search words being the tokens I described above.
can anyone else confirm this?
this is on Opera 9.26 on Windows
